i was more hoping that square would return to its roots and at least put the games out for Nintendo.
Truth be told, i didn't play 9 or 10 due to other obligations and a complete disinterest with having to play the entire game on-line.
It's alright, i'm pretty sure that the new Zelda will make up for it...and i'm hoping there's a new Golden Sun game...although i think there may be some bumps in the road for that one.

I said "around" launch. None of those are insanely far away from the launch date. The majority seem to be holiday time titles. Besides, name some games that were worth playing on 360 that came out RIGHT AT LAUNCH. If you say anything besides Perfect Dark Zero, you need a good .

PS3 owners can look forward to; Metal Gear Solid 4, Final Fantasy XIII, Grand Theft Auto IV (although that will no doubt come out for PC also), Devil May Cry 4, Resistance:Fall of Man, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, Heavenly Sword...and those are just titles for around launch date. Would you like me to continue?

GTA IV is multi-platform, the PS3 and 360 versions are slated to launch on the same day (sometime in 2007...won't be launch for the PS3 unless the PS3 gets seriously delayed). There have been reports that Ninja Gaiden Sigma may also find its way to the 360 at some point (not really a stretch to imagine, given Tecmo's strong support of the original Xbox and the 360 in the past). I pegged you for an FF/MGS guy given your vehement defense of a console that isn't even out yet...I would definatly recommend the PS3 to anybody who loves those games and has to play them, or to someone who has to have a slow-read first gen Blu-ray drive built into their console (but that's about as far as I would go at this point, without seeing more than internet reports).
Its funny that you mention Perfect Dark Zero, because that games sucks IMHO A lot of people like it but its not my cup of tea. The 360 version of GRAW is FAR superior to the other versions. Then you've got Dead Rising (you mentioned that), Saints Row, DoA4, all of the next-gen sports titles now (on a cheaper system!), Chromehounds, Enchanted Arms, Ninety-Nine Nights, Kameo, etc. On the way you've got Gears of War, Halo 3 (admittedly you don't care about this, but a lot of people do), Mass Effect, Too Human, Project Gotham Racing 4, Halo Wars (RTS), etc.
I also think the 360 has a big headstart when it comes to online play. I'm sure Sony's going to copy whatever they can from Xbox Live, but MS is already on their second generation of XBL. If PS3 online is similar to PS2 online its going to suck.
Personally, I don't play PC games as I don't like spending a ton of money on upgrading my PC whenever something new comes out...which means I don't mind the PC games making it over to the 360. I'd rather play online games on a console where everybody has a level playing field in terms of hardware.
I don't like getting into console wars, and it still remains to be seen how everything would shake out. I also wouldn't expect a PS3 price drop soon, and its probably likely that MS will match it when it happens, considering the 360 will have been out for quite a bit longer. I just happened to disagree with the blanket statement that says that a console that is not out yet is somehow way better than one that is already out, has similar graphics, and has good games available...it strikes of fanboyism.
Then there is the Wii...which is a complete wildcard in all of this.

Doh. Well, that sucks. Either way, here we are, many months after 360 came out, and there's still not a single game that makes it worthwhile to have one. I was DYING to get one when they came out, but I listened to my friends advice, and waited. Now I'm glad I did, because I wouldn't pay $100 for one. Xbox is my favorite system to date, but I don't have very high hopes for the 360 so far.

The Wii will probably get a next-gen version of FF Crystal Chronicles and maybe some other FF spinoffs like FF tactics, but probably not the "mainline" FF games, if Square stays true to form.

1) I love FF...I DESPISE MG, but lots of others love it.
2) Perfect Dark Zero me likey. What the heck GRAW? I think Saint's Row totally blows. I've always hated the Dead or Alive series. Total crap, even compared to 2-d fighters like Capcom games. Have you played 99 Nights? I played Kameo at a friends place. It sucks. I don't know anything about Enchanted Arms really. I'm not worried about Project Gotham, racing games bore me to death. Gears of War should be really cool.
3) PC games FTW
4) I am very intrigued by Wii. Don't think I'll buy one right off the bat, but I'm definitely interested in it.

I don't know what to think of Wii. To me the gamecube has always been outside the mainstream in terms of games. They seem to be the simple, technically unimpressive but incredibly fun games. I mean, how good to the graphics for Smash Bros. need to be?

GRAW = Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, although I can't tell if you are asking me what the heck it is, or what the heck I am thinking by liking it Its a great game, if you like tactical types of shooters. Apparently the PC version was a sketchy port and the versions for the other consoles suck.
I prefer the Soul Calibur series, but DOA4 is a good game. Played Saint's Row at a friends house...yeah its a GTA clone but it was done really well. I also thought Kameo was a good game . I hate ultra-realistic driving games (I prefer games like Burnout and Full Auto), but the PGR series is a nice balance between an arcade racer and a realistic sim.
I'm excited about Gears of War, but I think the game I'm most looking forward to is Mass Effect. Since you had an original Xbox, and you like RPGs, I'm sure you are familiar with BioWare...Mass Effect is their next game and it looks like it is going to be great.
