What would you give Izzo's recruiting and what grade...

Do you think Coach Izzo himself would give these classes?

Me needs English .101 classes for me's thread titles.

See the thing is a guy that comes to MSU is a least a 3 star. So throw out the stars and grade on performance. I give all those big man recruits a "D".

This will be the fourth straight year without a McD's AA, following a stretch of 1 or 2 every year from 99-03. Hard to compete against the Dukes, UNC's, Kansas's, etc. with that kind of recruiting.

Just subtract 2 stars from everybody but Walton and Neitzel and Raymar. Maybe spread 2 stars among those 3.

I don't think Neitzel will never be enough of a defender (due to physical limitations, not effort or technique) for me to consider him an elite player.

Did they announce the teams already?

Allen was on the USA team but not a Mickey D's AA?

HowTF is Lucas not? Isn't he a top 3 PG?

Just guessing. Most rankings I've seen do not place any of the 3 recruits in the Top 25.

I honestly think that the only recruit you can really toss out the window is Naymick, boy has he not panned out. In terms of Gray and Suton, they're both young and Gray has been hurt almost the whole time he's been here. I'd say that by the time they graduate both will be looked at as solid recruits. I don't even count the Donger as a recruit seeing as how we basically picked him up at the last second.

Raymar, Neitzel, Walton and Brown have all lived up to their billing so far.

The jury is still out on Dahlman and Herzog obviously.

Call me a homer/sunshine blower but I honestly think we'll look back at some of the bigs when their time is done and think a lot differently about them then we do right now. If not, then oh boy, because I don't see any bigs coming here in the next two classes.

With all the recent Football talk, I'm not used to seeing so many stars. If those stars were for football, I think tRCMB would rejoice and crash the server.

That said, it is evident that there are some flaws to the star system. Seems to lean toward "Potential" vs "Immediate Impact" just my .

Izzo needs to recruit bigs that can score. I am sick of defensive projects. I see all these schools on ESPN that have big white guys with post moves. We are too perimeter oriented.

This isn't like recruiting on NCAA 07 for XBox 360. The style of play that Izzo uses does not allow him to go after every 5 star recruit. Not every 4 and 5 star player wants to play a physical style that emphasizes ball control and rebounding. I rate Izzo's ability to recruit on his wins and losses, not the number of 5 star recruits he signs.

Buttermaker doesn't know a good big

and probably shouldn't be allowed to recruit bigs on his own. Maybe they could send the coach from LCC along, or even Comley. He seems able to judge talent. Or maybe Zeke could go if his ACL has healed enough. Just don't send Buttermaker alone.

What the **** is your standard for an elite player?! The guy is among the leading candidates for POTY in the Big 10 and is essentially carrying the team on his back.
