Personally, I wanted them to keep the EXACT same unis as last year, but we ALL know that with a new coach, comes new unis.
It's not that I don't like these new ones, but WHY did they take "MICHIGAN STATE" and cut the size in HALF?? I loved how BIG the letters where the last 12 years.
BTW, I did like the contrasting green pants for away games.

You put D. Thomas and Whiley in these uniforms and they look amazing!! Thornhill looks like a troll. When are stocky people going to realize that mid-calf socks look rediculous? Get knee high or ankle socks when in uniform stubby!!
I miss the green trim around the neck and sleeves on the white uniforms.

I like 'em; except for the obvious which has been pointed out already (low/small MICHIGAN STATE.)

Definite thumbs-down.
The Spartan head on the back reminds me of those dumb “Stop” patches they’re putting on kids’ hockey jerseys. It's just a bad place to put a logo.
And I had high hopes for the new font style on the front, but they really blew it.

After comparing these two photos, there's no question that last year's were better. The "Michigan State" just looks so much better.

Again, I think it has more to do with the seams on the new jerseys. With that font, where the letters are all blocky like squares, there isn't room to stretch the lettering more horizontally without ending up on a seam, and therefore they can't be stretched vertically.
The cool thing about the old font is that it is very narrow and therefore can be much larger vertically.

wow the "Michigan State" was pushed right up against the numbers last year too. I guess it's just the size that doesn't look right, the location doesn't seem to be that much different. They should make the numbers a little smaller and stretch the letters downward a little.

I posted this in the other thread, but this is how MSU should have designed them ...

You are right. The new uni has a maternity smock look to it with low lettering. Jumped out right away. You're hired!

You're correct on the seams for this seasons version, it's too narrow to fit MICHIGAN STATE across without appearing small. I think this season version is a different style than last years (which allowed a screened-on print) across the chest.
Also, loved the Green border sleeves & neck on last years Road Jersey. If you put a Green border on this years sleeves & neck coupled with a matching thin Green stripe on the pant leg, and the '07 version takes on a whole different "old school" look - that and Black shoes of course.

FWIW, I don't believe the "Michigan State" on the actual game jerseys was screened - they were sewn on.

I think the new uni's are close to these. I just wish the lettering was a little higher not bigger. I wish the numbers were bigger and a stripe down the paints was added. Overall, I really like the changes

It is insane that the players names on the back of the jersey are bigger than Michigan State on the front! When did the players become more important than the school?
