Like I said, given the millions of iPhones that will be on the market by the time you'd need a new battery anyway, you'll either be able to get a low cost replacement from a 3rd party company or it'll be time for a new iPhone model. Not a concern whatsoever.

We're talking about Li-ion batteries here. They go bad often. And the low-cost deal is total conjecture on your part. I'd argue this further, but I see you clearly drank the kool-aid.

By the time that iPhones need batteries replaced though, there will be plenty of companies that will offer battery replacement services for them. You can get an iPod battery replaced for around $25 these days and it also supposedly has a "nonremovable" battery. The battery would be the least of my concerns. I'd imagine there will be dozens of 3rd party companies offering iPhone battery replacements, probably the same companies that do iPod battery replacements already.
|
the problem won't be the replacement of batteries...that will be fine. I have no problem with my ipod. I use it sparingly and it charges up easily.
With the iphone it is different. that will always be on and it will always be in use because people are using this as their primary cell phone right now.
The phone doesn't offer the opportunity to change batteries and people who don't have the opportunity to keep their phone charged all of the time will suffer. However, this won't affect too many people. It seems most people have access to recharging when they need it (driving; home charger; office charger).

I'd argue this further but you don't seem to be paying attention to the market. This thing is already a hit. They'll sell millions. Battery replacement services will pop up and be much cheaper than what Apple offers.

That's a fair point. There are tons of 3rd party iPod recharging options that will recharge iPods with AA batteries for instance. Those would currently work on the iPhone as well right out of the box. Same interface.

Of course it will sell millions. There are millions of people who will buy anything with an Apple logo on it, they're called Apple fanatics. That doesn't make it a good phone.

Actuallly, bizarrely, with Li-Ion batteries, keeping them charged at 100% all the time will make them wear out slightly faster. Staying between 10-90% is best for them, but I still keep mine 100% charged up all the time.

Every time you argue with an apple fanatic it always ends up neandering away from the subject matter with something like "that was a worthless post!" Jeez, take your Pamprin already.

That all depends on what you're looking for in a phone. I know people that prefer their iPhones to their old Treos and people who prefer it to their old Windows Mobile phones. The browsing experience, battery, and multimedia experience are much better on their iphones for instance. It all depends on what you want in a phone.

Heh, that's rich coming from the guy talking about selling crap sandwiches.
I'd also not exactly call myself an Apple fanatic. My main computer is a Dell.

It's beyond me why anyone would want a cellphone to browse the internet??? Maybe it's why I don't understand the whole "text" thing??? You'd rather type a message on an inacessible ****ty keyboard than speak to someone? I don't get it????

I'm a pretty lame Apple fanatic then considering that I've never actually bought an Apple computer. I guess anyone who owns an iPod should be considered an Apple fanatic.
