Oh, I can get my email and reply just like you. That part Apple did provide - it is all the advanced stuff that they are struggling with.
If you have simple email needs, the iPhone may be the fit for you.

According to a buddy of mine who works at a large technology firm -- Windows Mobile 6.1 doesn't work at all with their corporate Exchange setup and Microsoft can't tell them why. And its getting tough to find phones with WM 6.0.

Here's a fun little thing I read on the net today. The ring tone that Apple demonstrates in their iPhone commercial isn't on the iPhone!

without reading through 60+ pages. Is it true you cannot send text messages with a photo using the iphone? I heard they go to email that way.

For Messaging there are two types of messages, SMS and MMS
SMS is only text which the iphone does support and MMS supports pics, and other media which the iphone does NOT support.
Apple likes to brag about sending pics "via email" but they do not like to say how they do not support MMS messages which even the simplest cell phones support today
Please correct me if I am wrong

So, a month+ in to it now I'm on my 2nd iphone 3G.
Although my BB Curve was better in many areas (email, calendaring, camera, GPS), I love the apps and web browsing.
My favorite apps: Shazam, Restaurants (two diabetics in the house - love the nutritional info), Sportacular, and I had iPint on my previous phone then didn't sync it before I lost it ... now I can't find iPint anywhere.
What is everyone's favorite apps?

Shazam is awesome. Has a great 'wow' factor in front of friends. I like the radar on Weatherbug.
On the jailbreak side, MxTube is really cool (lets you download from YouTube and keep it!)

Very cool new app that will let you stream your iTunes library from your home PC/Mac to your iPhone or iTouch. Get it while it's hot because they're only giving away the first 100,000 copies for free:

On my first load, I do notice a few albums that are not listed as available on the phone, yet they are in the shared playlist in iTunes. These are not DRM files. Not sure the deal there, but I'm sure it will get ironed out.
EDIT: I went under Settings in SimplyMedia on the phone and "reset database". It then took a few minutes to find my library again. It seems to be completely full now. Awesome.

I spoke too soon. Can't get any songs to play. I get a continuous "buffering..." message.

Anyone experiencing this?
Dropped calls plague iPhone 3G, and not just in U.S. - USATODAY.com
I noticed my signal strength bounce quite a bit when I have the 3G turned on, but never dropped a call (however, I'm not on the phone very much). Because I work in an area that doesn't have 3G, I keep the 3G off to save on battery - so I can make it through a day.

I guess I'm lucky. It hasn't happened to me. The only dropped calls I've had are at my house where its unavoidable with any friggin carrier.
My battery life does seem to have improved. I use the iPod virtually all day at work, browse regularly with 3G, and have been making a full day with juice to spare.

Yes. I thought it was just the crappy AT&T network. I just turn off the 3g most of the time. I lose calls consistantly. Never, ever, had this problem with Verizon. I expected some drops.

iPhone focus
I was invited to attend a focus group last week. It was all iPhone users. Turns out they were all former Verion subs. Towards the end of much discussion about why we switched out came the new iPhone clone phones. Would we come back with a bb or new phone.

Why would you guys go back? Your interest is on the interface rather than the technology or click through rate, right?
The only group that would go back to Verizon are those that require robust business functionality. Other groups of iPhone users seem happy trading technology/data rate/click through speed for a beautifully designed interface.

Correct. There wasn't a person in the group willing to go back. The new phones were ok. Cool in some ways. It seemed that Verizon wants but didn't previously understand the powers of the features.
They still make phones that don't synch with a computer, that won't let u move photos to desktop, and require menus and subscriptions to get to music or videos.

So true...I hate that about Verizon. I can connect my voyager to the computer to transfer tracks back and forth, but I can't do any data syncing.
I just got a blackberry curve and I'm really liking it so far.

The Curve rocks. I have the iPhone now and while I enjoy the interface and browser there are many things that I really miss about the Curve.
Also, if you are an iTunes user, I believe that you can now use iTunes to sync your music, etc.

network?
question. The little blue box I'm the upper left corner usually has an E in it. I guess that is for the edge network. Sometimes it says 3G. What does it mean when it has only has a white spot in the center?
