Perhaps you should start a Dare thread to stop wondering about your decision.
And if you want resolution, the new Blackberry Bold is supposed to be even better (albeit the screen is smaller).

My incidence of dropped calls has gone to nearly zero since updating to 2.02.

Please do tell more. I updated and not only do I get dropped calls, but also I get call failed messages when trying to call back the number of the dropped call. I am not certain, but it seems that turning off 3g seems to help.

Any advice approviated.

Is it necessary to restart or reboot the iPhone for the problem to be fixed?

see I haven't had any dropped calls as of yet. I'll probably stick with this version until/unless I have any problems

I heard that if you go to settings and turn airplane mode on then off, it will help your situation. I've noticed my phone getting a little slow and beginning to lag after having it on for a couple days straight so I restart it every few days

What does screen resolution have to do with the supposed superiority of the browser? My original question was what is so leaps and bounds ahead about the browser?

BTW, there are screenshots of this website on this website of the iPhone & Dare. They look pretty much identical.

Please scroll up to see the answer to your question about the browser.

Where are the screen comparisons? I saw the dare in my hand at the same moment as the iPhone.

iPhone App of the Day: AP Top 25 College Football 2008 | Mactropolis.com - Your Friendly Global Mac Community

Quote:
College Football fans have a new iPhone app that they can play with all day long. It comes from the Associated Press, and is called the AP Top 25 College Football 2008 Edition.

The app essentially gives you the AP Top 25 poll data, as it changes week to week. The poll has long been the standard measuring stick of a teams power in NCAA football.

Flip through the weekly poll with the touch of a finger. See who has moved up and down. Touch a team to view their progress during the season… Plus, you can get game scores, recaps, photos, podcasts and a whole lot more as well.

For only $0.99, this app gives you all kinds of bang for you buck.

Are you referring to this as an "answer"???

General interface.
Menus one example of interface.
Open software linking to computer desktop.
Screen clarity.
Touch screen zoom.
Browser.
Cheesy keyboard flip.
Music player.

If so, you list a bunch of "features" but don't explain the how or the why. Not very useful.

Screen shots are at http://www.spartantailgate.com/forum...version-2.html

Saw an iPhone over the weekend up close for the 1st time. THE SCREEN IS BIGGER. This would allow more of a web page to be displayed & thus give a better web browsing experience. Much like a 21" LCD vs. a 17" LCD. Screen clarity & vast browser superiority boasts are just propaganda. Sounds cooler & more techie than saying THE SCREEN IS BIGGER.

3G in EL

Didn't see any mention of it; 3G is up and running now in the East Lansing area. Those who had it switched off (like myself) may not have noticed...

So... what are some apps that you all have been buying?

I've only gotten free ones so far, as I haven't really seen any non-free ones that caught my attention enough to buy.

I have:

Tris
Shazam
Wikipanion
SportsTap
Flashlight
Showtimes
Labyrinth LE

I was thinking about buying one of the "voice recorder" apps. Also thought about buying the photography app which allows the camera to zoom in/out and adjust lighting preferences.

I've seen a lot of stupid apps too that are pretty worthless:

Koi Pond - its cool for little kids I guess?
Ambiance - helps you to fall asleep with gentle noises?

what do you guys have?

yea it isn't that cool but it's free and it works.

It gives you like 5-6 colors.

There is a pay app that can like strobe and do other things but it's a lil unnecessary (like a lot of apps).

I want a gas price app based off of gps but I heard they aren't very thorough, as in don't include enough gas stations

If Telenav does end up on the iPhone (turn-by-turn directions) as rumored, the gas stations are also on there and pretty accurate.

Telenav is the biggest thing that I miss from my old Blackberry.

I used to have SportsTap, but switched to Sportacular. I like the interface a bit better.

EDIT: I also have Restaurants app. It is awesome for nutritional info.

Anyone try this free app?

Quote:
Mobileyes live traffic for the iPhone

Posted Sep 5th 2008 4:32PM by Damon Lavrinc
Filed under: Etc.

The coding wizards at 3rd Dimension, Inc. have released an iPhone app that provides a live video stream of traffic in selected areas, allowing commuters to view conditions before they make the trek to and from work.

Currently, the application is only available for Detroit, Harford, Houston, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Knoxville, LA, New York and Washington D.C., but more cities will be added in the future.

The application is a free download through the iTunes store (search for "traffic" and you'll see the available cities), and after checking out the New York feeds, we're astounded at how many traffic cameras are available in the Big Apple.

I noticed there are a number of voice recognition apps for the Iphone. Anyone try them yet? I need a good voice app so I can call in the car without looking for the stupid number while onthe road. Makayama is one I noticed in the Apps department . They want 15 bucks for it. Price seems cheap enough. Thoughts?
