I love how MD finally understands and gets the hatred between MSU and UM. For once I finally feel like a coach hates UM as much as I do.

I can't even muster up any outrage for this. So sad. Maybe by the time UM/ MSU plays I'll be able to get pissed off.

Oh please, get over it. If a well-deserved comment is going to cost us a ball game, then we don't deserve to win in the first place.

Some other quotes...
Quote:
Former Michigan State coach George Perles used to say, "They all count one." This time, running back Jehuu Caulcrick disagrees.
"I felt like we won two games today," Caulcrick said with a big smile.
The Spartans celebrated twice in their locker room Saturday afternoon. First, for their 55-18 victory over Alabama-Birmingham in coach Mark Dantonio's debut. And then again as they watched on television while defending Division I-AA champion Appalachian State shocked Michigan a few minutes later.
"We were going crazy," quarterback Brian Hoyer said.

What was he supposed to say? He wasnt jumping all around and cheering the fact, in fact there didnt seem to be a lot of emotion in his voice when he answered. um needs to worry about their team, not about what MD has to say.

We can show the ASU tape to every recruit considering UM and MSU from now until hell freezes over.

Ann Arbor Michigan -Home of the Undefeated Wolverines. Check that. One loss. That's still enough to get us into a SWEET BCS game.

Yeah, because UM needs "bulletin board material" to get pumped for the MSU game...

Amen Tanner, MD should send the video of that to Perry, Demens, etc. followed up by our team running rough-shod over an equally pitiful opponent

I'm hoping a podcast of the post-game interview with Tieman will be available to preserve for posterity.
The way I remember the conversation(paraphrased):
Quote:
Tieman: And we've just learned that in Ann Arbor, Appalacian State has beaten Michigan.
Dantonio: So they did lose to Appalacian State?
Tieman: Yes.
Dantonio: (no response)
Tieman: No comment?
Dantonio: Maybe just a moment of silence.
|
I definitely want to hear that again!

I don't read it as him saying that their SEASON is dead. I read it more like a sarcastic, "Oh, what a tragedy".
By the way, I don't see how that's bulletin board material. For starters, what does just the line, "Should we have a moment of silence" mean? They would have to put the context and the conversation leading up to it on the bulletin board as well. And that would remind the players that they lost to a 1AA team. On the other hand, that would require several lines and sentences, and I'm not sure that the General Studies majors on the team could handle that long of a reading assignment.
I also think that Hoyer saying that the team was going crazy is no big deal. I was in a bar jam packed with Hurricanes fans who were all on their feet screaming as if the Canes had just won the National title. It meant a little more to MSU and OSU fans, but everyone in the country had to love it. You can bet that that scene was repeated anywhere that there was a group of college football fans not affiliated with UM.
