Dantonio on WJR after the UAB game re: scUM

My gf was driving out to the west part of the State and caught Dantonio's post game presser on WJR. They were interviewing him when someone informed him that Michigan has just lost.

"They did? Wow, that's bad. We should have a moment of silence."

He did

The quote was something along the lines of "UAB could have been tougher, Coach, I just have been informed that App. State has beaten U of M"

Dantonio: "Really, That's a shame, a real shame"

Will Tieman: "Coach, that says it all"

Dantonio: "Should we have a moment of silence?"

Great Moment to be a Spartan

True. Much more of a subtle dig than Darryl Rogers' exclaiming "we finally beat those arrogant asses".

Does anyone know if he was doing it as a joke, or doing it to say, "yeah, upsets happen, no big deal."? I have a feeling that the "moment of silence" comment was more sarcastic anger about the obsession over UM in a post-game press conference that they weren't supposed to be a part of.

When I made that statement I had not exactly pulled out my book of MSU Coaches Quotes, and you bring up a great one with the Darryl Rogers quote.

But Dantonio telling the media that scUM's season is DEAD? Priceless.

I think you are right, but it's still absolutely hilarious.
