Map pack due out on Friday....

Call of Duty 4 Map Pack Imminent
Take Friday off work, suggests Infinity Ward.
by Martin Robinson, IGN UK
UK, April 3, 2008 - An Infinity Ward insider has spoken out about the launch of the new map packs for Xbox Live king Call of Duty 4, noting the developer is currently aiming for a release this Friday, April 4.
Infinity Ward community manager Robert Bowling has stated on his blog that, "As of right now we're pushing certification for an on-time release for April 3rd or 4th [...] I'm being told that it's a good chance it will be released worldwide (except for Japan) tomorrow night / early-Friday morning."
Bowling continues, "For those of you asking when you should take off work, I'd take off Friday, as it looks like they should be available late Thursday night / early Friday morning, which means Friday you should be able to play all day." We approached Activision for confirmation, but the publisher was unavailable for comment.
Costing 800 Microsoft Points, the pack contains four new maps for the online component of the game - currently trumping Halo 3 on Xbox Live - and you can appease your curiosity by checking our preview, should you so desire.

I played through each of the new maps this morning for one match each, except for Killhouse which didn't seem to be in the rotation. Someone online speculated that it might be for Free-for-All mode only and not available on Team Deathmatch.
Creek is going to be one of my favorite maps I think. It's pretty large with several houses, a ravine with caves, waterfall running through it, and some nice hills. It's going to be a sniper's paradise. I switched to a sniper rifle half way through and with all the green on the level, it's still difficult to locate the enemy.
Chinatown looks like it could be fun once you learn the map. I think all of us were playing it for the first time so it seemed like everyone on both teams were just randomly running around. At one point someone on my team said that a lot of the other team were over by the Chinese restaurant, which was funny because I think there's like 3 of them in the map.
Broadcast was......confusing. I'm not sure I'll like that map. Though I remember the single player mission, it's going to take a while to get used to it. It seemed like all of my team was "stuck" in the TV station building and whenever we went outside we were . Same thing happened whenever the other team actually made it into building, they were quickly .
I'll have to load these maps in a Private match by myself and go into the mode where you can fly around the level to get better aquatinted with them I think. I wish I'd know about the ability to do that when I first started playing.
My XBL name is Biggie Munn by the way. I bet most people think I like rap or something.

If you are into 50's Hip Hop, Biggie is a good choice.

I haven't played this online yet, but if I do I'll probably pull all those maneuvers. It's ****ing war.

I tend to play different maps using different styles. On the maps where I do the "laying in the grass waiting" style, it seems to hurt my own score more than anything. I don't usually stay just in one spot, but when you're playing that style, there is a lot of waiting around...usually to the detriment of your own score. However, there is a certain kind of satisfaction for getting a sniper kill.
Besides, let he who has not tossed a random grenade cast the first grenade.
