By the way, before Dantonio, MSU was quickly becoming my least favorite Big 10 team. That's right, they were giving Michigan a run for their money. The flag planting mess they started showed the total lack of respect the team and coach had for their opposition. I hate that crap.

I can't believe that they actually think they have a shot at "redemption for the humiliation of last year's national title game." If they get to the title game again, they're likely to be embarrassed again. Perhaps worse than last year.

That Buckeye defense is good, but let's see how they can handle speed. I'm thinking Dantonio pulls out all the stops knowing that if you play their game, you lose. We have got to make this a track meet. Their D does very well when the play is happening in front of them, but they are weak against a fast paced offense with quick players. Line up TJ Williams, Devin Thomas, and Terry Love and we'll see how they do trying to keep up with those guys. We will be the best team they've faced so far from an offensive standpoint. Our defense will need to step up and stop the run early and make Boekman (sp?) beat us. My biggest concern is our O-line. They need to give Hoyer time and open some holes for Ringer and Jehuu. I actually think our defense will do well in this game since we won't be going up against a spread all game and our blitzes will effect their young QB.

If OSU goes unbeaten, they will face one of two options:
1) Play BC or USF in the title game, which will immediately render their NC moot due to the lack of competition and general bogusness of it all.
2) The play LSU, Oklahoma, or Oregon and get shellacked once again.

I think anything is possible after seeing all the surprising results so far this season. Oregon State was a 14 point underdog yesterday at Cal and pulled off a win. Their key was winning the turnover battle 3-1. MSU needs to force several more turnovers than they give up in order to win, IMHO.

Call me crazy, but I think if USF gets to the title game, they beat the Buckeyes much like Boise St. beat OU last year.

Absolutely turnovers are key. You need them to pull off an upset like this. The defense needs to get us the ball and take the momentum that way. We also need to be careful with the ball when we have it. I'd much rather Hoyer take a sack or two than try to force the ball like he has recently. If he tries to force it, the athletes on OSU's defense will take it away sure as ****.

Do you expect OSU fans to be conceding defeat in the Nat'l Title game when their team is undefeated and #1 in the nation? I agree that if OSU gets to the title game again this year they're probably going to face a team that's better than them, but I don't see how you can expect a fan to think their team has no chance.

How they handle speed? Are you kidding? OSU's defense is so much faster than MSU's offense it's not even close. How about power? The OSU DL is young, and the LB's are the fastest in the country, yet can be overpowered. Pounding the ball is the option.
OSU may have the fastest defense in the nation.

I think we'll be prepared and will play solid. As MD would say, we have to play above ourselves to win. OSU obviously has more talent across the board and is playing at home. We'll need breaks and some luck.
I don't see us melting down and I don't see an OSU blowout, but I think OSU wins.

It's not about needing their respect. It's just a curiousity to read comments from the opposition's supporters. The back and forth dishing and opinions are part of the game too, IMO.

The best way to beat a fast defense is to run right at them. Smashmouth running game with play action passing game. We are going to find out just how good OSU's defense is. Can't wait to watch this game.

The only question about this game is whether or not the Bucks beat the spread.

I'm with ya Apostle...this could be a very entertaining game. We have to keep that defense guessing what we're going to do next. I seriously doubt that we'll be able to "pound green pound" this defense. Misdirection plays, counters, draws, reverses, in addition to the smashmouth off tackle stuff. Throw in some RB and WR screens to Ringer and Thomas and get that speed out in the open field. Open up the full playbook for this one. I can't wait either!
