High school football scores
Haslett controlled DeWitt for over 3 quarters, leading 10-0 and shutting down the Panther high-powered offense. DeWitt stormed back in the last 8 minutes capped off by a TD on 4th and goal to beat Haslett 14-10. (boo)
Holt scored a TD with 9 seconds left to beat BC Central.

Midland advances, but will pull their traditional second round fold.
Bullock Creek lost as well.

Way to pull out the comeback big D! Next week I'm in a pickle though. Root for EL where I grew up and live or root for the alma mater. I guess I'll go with the winner. Go Panthers!

The more than mighty Titans of JLC avoid their second straight 1st-round exit. All is well.

Chesaning's QB might be the best player in the state that nobody has heard of.

A pretty ballsy call to go for the win when down 10-7 and 4th and Goal. DeWitt could have kicked a pretty short FG for the tie (they do have a good kicker).
I had to work... I guess it was a great game.

Belding 23, Williamston 21
Apparently it was tied 21-21 and Belding got a safety with about 3 minutes left . I've never heard of such a thing. That's outrageous.

Haslett committed to the run on that 4th down and left that TE open who sneaked into the endzone for an easy completion. VanDreumel did a nice job of faking the run, Tebow style. Haslett played their asses off, real tough loss for them tonight considering how well the defense played.

Caledonia crushed Portage Northern 49-13 with running clock for the entire second half.
Lowell handled Portage Central 42-7 in an easy victory on the road.
Lowell vs Caledonia next week. Lowell won 1st meeting
Muskegon nearly got upset by GR Ottawa Hills but won with a FG with 3 sec left 38-35.
Muskegon vs Hudsonville next week. Muskegon won 1st meeting 52-0.
Winner of Caledonia vs Lowell faces Muskegon vs Hudsonville winner.
End of season for Lowell or Cal. Very tough region.

Lakeshore beat Wayland 10-7, St. Joe over Grand Rapids Christian 31-21 in a monsoon and thunderstorm delay. Lakeshore plays St. Joe in a rematch of earlier in the season. The winner of that game gets either Hastings or Lansing Sexton.

Total Yards
Dewitt: about 390
Haslett: about 200
First Downs
Dewitt 18
Haslett 10
Key to Dewitt having to rally to win?
Fumbles Lost
Dewitt 3 (inside Haslett's 20 Yrd line at least twice, including one inside the 5)
Haslett 0
Another key? Dewitt's QB consistently overthrowing WIDEOPEN receivers. I give credit to Haslett for playing a spirited game, but to say that they controlled Dewitt for three quarters is

Last year Rockford put a beatdown on Holt. It was ridiculous how much better Rockford was. Holt is such a conservatively coached team that I really think Rockford will have their way with them again.
