I like the deal, perfect for the team at the time right now. Now we just need a solid set-up guy to go on Rodney's day off.

....or convert Jones into that "solid set-up guy" and go out and get a closer worthy of a playoff-level team. This signing doesn't preclude further explorations. It merely ensures we have a decent fall-back option......

I am not a big fan of this decision. I would've liked to see them go after Rivera for the Yanks. No way in hell Jones is worth $7 Mill a year...

Poor closer market this year. That is why he got that 1 million raise.
Tigers should think about signing Troy Percival.

He only lost 1 game in which he didn't also blow the save. That would be a total of 7 games that you feel he lost, which would be 1 more game than Mariano Rivera blew for the Yankees using your criteria.

I agree with Lone Wolf. Why can't the Tigers only get hall of fame players for each position? If not, they should at least have only current all stars at each position.

Wrong. Try learning what a blown save or a loss is.
He pitched in a total of 12 losses for the Tiger's, 6 of which he either pitched a scoreless 9th and another reliever lost the game in extra innings or he came in while the Tiger's were losing. If you want to say he lost those games, you would prove how little you know about sports.

Here is Todd Jones' game log from year. If you still think I am flat out wrong, again, you would prove how little you know about sports.
Todd Jones - Detroit Tigers - Game Log - MLB - Yahoo! Sports
Please look at the games on Apr 2, Apr 21, May 17, Jun 14, Jul 29 and Aug 3. After that, STFU about blaming Jones for so many losses.
