1. They are not "alive" again. Still dead, but in a different place.
2. Penny is a symbol for part of Desmonds psyche
3. Like the Losties, they are individuals looking for "something". Now, they're in the same mess as the losties.

so what you're saying is that if someone came up with the correct thoery of the show, that they would rewrite their way out of it...sortof like a soap opera? This is plausible...maybe they do write their way out of it. I dont' think they will, though.

Not necessarily, but the purgatory theory has become so popular that I think they'd make an exception for that and try to find a way out. I'm pretty sure the first time it cropped up as an explanation was late in Season 1, so they've had a long time to do it, if indeed it was ever intended to be the truth.

But, when they took the hiatus in the middle of Season 3, they decided to have three more short seasons and then end it, no matter what. They decided at that point how the show was going to end, obviously knowing that purgatory was the no. 1 theory at the time. What a horrible decision it would be to make that the ending anyway.

I disagree completely. I thought the look on the doc's face said, "Oh my god, Jack's dad is still alive!!??? I thought he died!!????"

Not gonna lie, the ending of season 3 wasn't well thought out, Charlie would likely have had at least an hour before he suffocated considering there is no way the station could have flooded above the porthole. Charlie should be alive...

Do you think it may be just one character's trip through purgatory and that all of the other "characters" are simply helpful spirits or harmful demons plying for the real character's (who's dead obviously) soul?

I think it may be that just Sawyer's dead and in purgatory and all of the other characters are not real people.

So your one argument about the ability of him to stay alive makes the whole season finale a pile of crap?

Wow. Some of the wild theories are mind-boggling.

Will anyone actually stick to a theory for longer than 2 episodes? And if you are proven wrong, will you admit error?

It was crap. The whole parallel universe thing to cover up their deaths in another universe was LAME. At least the two Desmond situation was cleared up.

So are you saying that Jack and Kate would be like spirits of Jack that are helping him through his spiritiual journey? Maybe Jack is like the angel on one shoulder in animal house, and Ben is the devil on the other shoulder? Definitely plausible.

- Two instances of communication with the outside world
- Jake and Kate (at least) making it off the island

Hey, give this MSU person a break. They sound decent. Not like those posters over on their website. What a strange group they are.

You should stick to discussing things you actually know something about. You're obviously "lost" in this discussion.

$100 says they are not all dead already.

How is it obvious Penny is dead?
I believe the producers have already eliminated the parallel universes theory.
