Ferentz has been offered the Michigan job...

...and GVSU's AD has been contacted about former employee Brian Kelly by none other than Lloyd Carr.

Kevin White has also made inquiries about Kelly.

Wow.

BK at um would be classic, they hired the guy we turned down. His style of O doesnt seem like it would fit at um. The downside- with any success at all, he would never leave.

Bodoglife.com is laying 9-2 odds that Ferentz will be the next coach at Michigan. That puts him behind only Les Miles, and well ahead of everybody else.

Miles will be the coach at UM. Now that LSU is out of the hunt for the National title, it will be announced soon. Anything else is folly.

Remember a year ago when MSU was going thru this coaching search. Every name under the sun was mentioned. The one name that most of us least expected, MD, was about the last one that came up. TRUTH, no one really knows except Martin-Coleman, who um is looking at talking to, interested in. All the rest is pure speculation. Even the mgoblog that you linked says, this is not a fact.

Iowa is not going to let it happen. They would be stamping themselves for all eternity as Michigan's beeyatch.

Whatever U-M might offer Ferentz, Iowa will beat it. The only way this story has legs is if Ferentz is desperately unhappy at Iowa and wants out (no real evidence of either).

Actually, Dantonio's name came up pretty early in the MSU speculation sweepstakes.

Would um seriously raid a Big Ten team for a coach?

Most schools consider it an unwritten rule that you don't do that.

Nope. Still not a Michigan Man. WOTS is that Mike Hart has been offered the job.

If this is true, I'd have to believe Ferentz wants out and approached Michigan.

For all of the talk of Miles and Kelly, I find it hard to believe that either fits the Michigan "image."

Ferentz fits it perfectly. As did Bielein.

I agree with you. It's been said that Ferentz could have went to the NFL. I believe those opportunities are over for now.... and anyway you slice it .... Mich is a much better job than Iowa. Especially, if you know you have the Presidents full support... that means a lot.. when your about to go 7-5 and lose to MSU and OSU!!!!!

That's what I'm still trying to figure out.

Doesn't seem Ferentz's style at all to do something like that, either.
