Cal finishes 6-6

Next year's opener no longer looks impossible.

These guys were poised to take over # 1 midway through the season.

What does this season have to do with next season?

Combine that with them potentially having a new coach.

Cal will most likely lose DeSean Jackson as well.

Cal certainly fell apart this season. However, next year it will still be very tough to go out there and win. Cal will be looking to rebound from a disappointing season and have plenty of talent to do it. Starting at Cal is still just about as tough as it gets. We can beat them, but it won't be easy.

It's funny how the um fans all dream of hiring Tedford, but Ferentz isn't good enough for them b/c he was 6-6.

This is like saying MSU can't win 7 games this season, because they only won four games last season? Cal will be a very difficult game.

He didn't say that we'd win. He didn't say that we had no chance.

Agree...it will definitely help if Jackson is gone...also, I think their top rb is a senior...

nah, they are beatable

that environment isn't very hostile

need to be ready to chase them all over the field but they aren't too keen on blocking and tackling out there

I'll point out that Cal returns 8 starters on defense and 6 on offense. Forsett is a big loss, though.

I'll remind you that those starters were 6-6 this year.

Good to see Harbaugh win 2 of his biggest games this year. The guy is gonna be one hell of a coach. Probably the only former um player I like.

Thank you, just pointing out that 6 weeks ago scheduling a road game at Cal looked like a certain butt kicking along the lines of our last trip to Oregon. Tedford was going to be coach of the year and the Bears were poised to pass USC at the top of the league. Fast forward a half a year and they are a .500 team who has several losses to bad teams. MSU's chances of winning appear to have increased significantly.

Not sure why that is hard to understand, we talk about slumps every other future opponent goes through around here.

you're only allowed to talk about that stuff when it looks like it will work against us

optimism is frowned upon here and you will be labeled a sunshine blower unless you agree that the world is coming to an end next saturday

Who said it was impossible to start with? And why do we think because Cal went 6-6 this year, they will be any easier next year? I don't follow the logic.

Because the chances of "a certain butt kicking along the lines of our last trip to Oregon" still look very good, inspite of Cal's record THIS season.
