FYI, we threw a party during welcome week last year that the cops wanted to bust up but didnt bother. It encompassed our entire back yard, 4 floors in the house, and the side yard. The cops walked through trying to bust it up, and people just ignored them. They asked for somebody who lived at the place, people pointed to me... they talked to me and said that they wanted me to shut it down. I told him the beer ran out, so it will be soon....so they left.

We had 3 kegs left.

I live in Cedar Village and I never heard anything about this. And what's this about throughout ALL of Cedar Village. They might want to check with the residents before they invite some 3,000 people over here expecting to go in and out of people's apartments which is what they make it sound like.

That said, if they really want this to take off, they should put some flyers on every resident's door and organize this thing so that no one complains about it and they can have some extra security guards on duty, and of course...KEGS!!! If this really is going to be a bonified party, I'd be willing to participate, but right now it just sounds like a facebook event that won't take off because no one around here knows jack about this thing.

No. Actually I do all my drinking and partying at bars or at friend's house parties since partying in an apartment sucks. BUT, I'm just saying that if they really wanted to make this a sweet party they should get the residents together and figure out who is buying kegs and split the money, etc because even though partying in one single small ass apartment may suck, getting a bunch of people to open up their apartments and make it sort of like a block party or open house would actually be pretty sweet. Putting an event on facebook doesn't mean **** when you don't have the residents informed about it. All the welcome week block parties kick ass because the residents get together and organize it so they're all on the same page.

No need to worry about kegs or approval from residents. People will bring their own booze and they'll come whether you want them there or not. And oh yeah, most of the complex will probably be trashed and/or burned.

By the way, the conspiracy theorist in me wonders if the EL powers that be aren't helping organize this, knowing it will lead to a showdown with the po-po, which they can then use as an example of why the complex needs to be demolished.
