Ahhh...the memories. I lived at 252 Cedar St. -- my apartment was on the middle floor, southeast corner, facing the corner of Water's Edge and Cedar. The years were 1999-2000.

I literally lived at the epicenter of the riot. Too many details to be spoken and stories to be told, but the flames from a burning couch below were at one point darting up through the gaps of our balcony floor/planks. Not to mention flipped over police cruisers on fire, and countless other disturbances. Wish I had a camcorder then.

I texted my three other roommates this link, and they've been "lurking" in this thread for a couple hours now.

I took refuge in your building that day...There were a number of great Spartans there taking in fellow Spartans trying to get in from the gas and destruction to wash out there eyes and grab a drink

Two of my best friends lived in the basement of that building a few years ago. I think if they ever faced anything of this sort, they'd have **** their pants a few hours ago.

ok... ALL the cops left.

that means one of two things:

1) they're getting their riot gear on.

2) they surrendered...

sounds like the safest place is the middle of the riot where ACLU can protect.
