hey, Halloween 2 is definitely NOT related to Cedar Fest in any way. Actually, my hope was to get lucky and have Halloween 2 land on one of these perfect weekends(after a lot of midterms but before finals and not on Easter) and not be the same weekend as a potential Cedar Fest. I figured my thing would be trumped if they were on the same weekend. But I def. responded to every post I saw asking about it being Cedar Fest or a party stating clearly that it is NOT a party and is just a second Halloween with warmer weather! That's why the location was MSU or East Lansing and the date was the range of the weekend!

Two ELPD Detectives interrogated the crap out of me, and I spoke the straight truth the entire time, regardless of them badgering me telling ME that MY Holiday was intended as Cedar Fest. Nope. They also didn't want me to explain things to people, and they acted like everything always ends in Cedar Village. Too bad I was on Harrison and Michigan like the entire first semester.. These cops were playin it by the book, and definitely trying to get me to be inconsistent so they could try and blame a "Cedar Fest" on me this year. Cedar Fest would happen regardless, as the kids who heard about it and are Freshmen this year, or didn't attend last year, probably want to say they've been to it. I hadn't heard one person reference Halloween 2(besides people I knew around me), let alone it being "Cedar Fest." (noboy else had/has, either) Also nobody knew Cedar Fest was on the Final Four weekend.. the cops claimed I knew it, which I didn't because if you'd have asked me, I would have told you it was in March!! Same with most people I know... HA! not to mention they repeadidly said how it was the Final Four weekend, stating that that's how its always been.. well I looked up an article from the State News from last year that I remembered, and the Spring Cedar Fest have definitely all been in May, excluding last year's!!

Let's move this to a different date. I'll post here after I get my notice into the State News about cancellation due to intimidation by the ELPD. It will of course be on FaceBook, too

Its not on there because the cops finally had me take it down. My roommate and I tried many times to explain that we could take it down, but they kept thinking that it would only delete it off of my page.. when we finally drilled it in that as an admin, one can click "cancel event," thus removing it from everybody's Facebook events list, they had me do it. I wanted to send a message with it, explaining that it is NOT Cedar Fest, but nooo, they of course had to have some control or something. This was five or sixish weeks ago. Soon after returning from Christmas break.

Save your costumes for a later weekend.. it won't be exam study week or Easter weekend, so the choices are pretty slim. I just need to fix up my article for the paper first.

ha yea, if you are talking about the idiots who ruin things, a character type of which a larger percentage of the guests at MSU from around the state/region are plagued by. So many come to MSU because they can get hammered and know that the parties will have a lot of people, ect.. It is in the middle of the state and therefor the most obvious location for the most people to travel to. Why not save the gas and trttorize your own schools? And there are also a lot of kids who are probably in high school wo contribute.. I know some friends have brought their siblings, but its a different story when its a group of party-hoping/"crashing" 16 year-olds just trying to get a little free alcohol

BTW Those ELPD didn't realize that there were many more comments asking about "were" the "party" was at or other questions that were answered if they'd just read the above descriptions within the event. I deleted a lot of the repeat/stupid ones, including the simple "what is this?" ones.. sometimes I answered and deleted later to clear the board a little, but the crappy party was within the time they got there there was a notification in my inbox stating somebody wrote on my wall. the kid said :is this cedar fest" Well thanks to the cops, I didn't get to reply. I could of, but I was scared as **** and kissing ass. They had no warrant, and they wern't invited in for a search. We were talking. But I hate how much they made themselves into lying pricks by trying to get me to be flaky and possibly have something on me need be.

Luckily, I am a very honest person, and I like to think intelligent. I never lied, and in my state of adrenaline-spiked fear, kept my story straight-true, too. I gave the cops respect and did all I could to talk calmly while they repeatedly told me what "I" was doing/had done. Oh, and tried to guilt me into believing they have to spend acrapload extra to prepare for this. Noo, they don't. They've been planning for Cedar Fest since last year's. The only question was when it would be if there was no moron with a facebook group for it. Then again, they claim its always the Final Four weekend.. "ALWAYS" C'mon guys, I know you're reading this. You said it yourself, you know that I'm not stupid. But now that the pressure of the interrogationesque chat is over, I had time to think and catch proding lie.. Last years was the first for the Final Four.. making it the only.. which apparently IS in April(perhaps they should move March Madness so it fills all of March and March only). The other Spring Cedar Fests have been in May.. and really mid-May!!!

Halloween 2 is just another Halloween...a holiday. Hopefully others won't exploit it... as long as it reflects Halloween its fine with me. A reason to dress up and plan parties based on this theme. Its everyone's favorite holiday a second time around(actually nice because maybe you had an exam or something important then next morning/day like I've always seemed to have..this is in a time where an exam would be rare, and instead of being on a date(sometimes weekdays), its a weekend!) And in the warmth.

Important

I've heard of the halloween 2 thing, we were all very excited about it (there were a lot of people that were excited about it, it would have worked)

You should have just told the cops to piss off or arrest and charge you with a crime if they want to question you.

Well it will be the weekend of the 17th now. I will start a facebook group and post it here and other places. The cops claimed these things go up a few thousand right before they happen, so..

And its definitely not going to be a big gathering in Cedar Village, Jeff and Det. W. If yout have a night off, show some MSU spirit and dress up like its Halloween!

Yes I was there for a little bit last year but left before they decided it broke some law to assemble(even though there is a constitutional right to assemble..but I guess the taunting and marches through the crowd in riot gear without doing anything in the process was enough to get to people and unfortunately get some people to make bad decisions and allw them to decide it unlawful). Which was definitely before the tear gas.

Any "CedarFest" could work out if we didn't have people who are too ignorant to realize you can have a wild crowd gathered without causing trouble.. without reactions to arrests of idiots or any attempt to aggrivate the crowd(chaos errupts and then the police act, therefor getting it cleared out ASAP).

But not with people like I heard talking today saying "****s gonna happen. Somethings getting burned down" and a girl suggesting a couch to be burned. And a guy mentioning taking a street sign, or something along those lines. Last years could have been fine.. But this year=stay clear or don't break ANY rules(basically don't contibute to throwing anything)

I never will understand the enjoyment people get over destroying property. I just like to have a good time and celebrate, but when things turn violent and nasty, I'll leave the area.

The real terrorists are in Afghanistan! And I'm sure already rallying back in Iraq, ready to overthrow their weak, inexperienced and young government(now lack of support). Oh, and holding training camps here in the USA

Ditto that; I'll probably be on the other side of campus. But I'll have to pass by to catch a glimpse on the way into a friend's apartment.
