I've gotta believe he was looking for other options besides MSU all along. He's had forever to commit, and never pulled the trigger. It's a shame couldn't convince him. He would have been the man in his sophomore year, most likely.
Gotta believe it's Alabama all the way now.
**** you Saban.

If it's not gonna be us I hope he goes to Bama so we don't have to see him all the time.

I think you are spot on....seemed like he was always looking for the hotter chick to come along. If he was ever in to MSU he would have committed early and tried to help build the class. the longer it went, the worse it got for us

It sucks total ass that Ingram won't be a Spartan. I was really hoping to see him play special teams and come off the bench in blowout situations next year.

I would love to see him come to State, but if he doesn't - oh well.
We will make another RB a pro RB. If he doesn't want to be that RB, his choice. Either you are a Spartan or you aren't - his choice.

Good Point....it seems like he doesn't really want to be a thus not meeting one of 's requirements of a recruit. As previously stated....if he really wanted to be a he would have committed early and helped build the class like Fred Smith did by recruiting Nick Perry to East Lansing.

Forgot about that because I was thinking why in the heck would he go to Iowa???...there's the answer.

If this is true and Ingram ends up at Iowa or Bama, well then eff him. We should only care about the recruits who want to be Spartans, and a legacy recruit who commits elsewhere is dead to me. Mark Ingram to Bama or Iowa is, to me, worse than Keith Nichol to Oklahoma last year. Isaac Harper come on down!

Hw wants to play and play right away so I say he will be heading to Iowa where he will start as a freshman. At MSU, he won't be playing much as a frosh, possible redshirted.

I think the kid ends up at ASU. Good player, just seems a little impressionable and fickle.

Some pretty pathetic responses in this thread IMHO.

I'd be really disappointed if he didn't come here, but it's a likely and probable reality. He has to know how much we want him here as a program and as a fanbase. He may not want to follow his father to the point of not going to MSU simply to get out from under his shadow and strike out on his own. Alabama, as slimy and duplicitous as Saban is, still is a good destination and a high profile program and opportunity. Iowa can offer PT like we can't, and Ferentz is a good coach that will utilize him as well....even though they have lost a lot of luster lately.
Getting Ingram would have been a luxury this year, but not a necessity for us. We'll just need to focus on a feature back for 09, and I think Ringer graduating will make that a lot easier.

No matter what happens, Two schools are going to be shocked.
'Bama is full of cocky bastards, they think they can have anyone they offer.
Iowa is suffering from Indiana Syndrom "But we don't have any other RBs! He'll have to pick us! We sent the whole coaching staff!"
And his dad played here, he's a legacy recruit, and he was having the time of his life at the basketball game, he loved it here.
So if he picks us, a LOT of people are going to be suprised. If he picks Iowa, a LOT of people are going to be suprised, and if he picks Alabama, a LOT of people are going to be suprised.
Big changes in his recruitment=Announcing a day early, why? I think he's been a silent verbal for a long time, but Dantonio asked him not to announce to help recruit Perry. Dantonio was banking on Ingram and Perry hitting it off on their visit, but Ingram never telling Perry he was a silent verbal. Whether or not that worked, it might not have helped enough with Perry, so Ingram announces a day early, hoping to influence Perry more.

Why in the world would my nickname for Saban be Xed out???
First part rhymes with Dick (with a Sl in the front), the 2nd part is his first name.

Exactly.
As I said before, a "legacy" recruit can go both ways. Either a kid really likes the idea of being one, or he really doesn't. Still, I'm sure a ton of "fans" will rip for it and say that he can't close.
