A lot of posters make fun of people like me, but I have to say.
FIX
Plain and simple.

Welcome to Big Ten basketball. These games have been officiated like this FOREVER. They always take over the game for fear a riot will break out. Watch an aCC, Big East or Pac ten game: they let them THROW DOWN. When we played UCLA, Texas, BYU, were we this foul prone? Last I checked PSU went to the line 44 times tonight and we went 19. It's a *****ING JOKE. No, we won't win the league again, but who really cares? Because in the tournament we'll probably make a good run like we usually do, as the refs will let the two teams play. The Big Ten has rigged home games for years: way before PSU showed up and they'll continue to do so. It's just the way it is. As for all the idiots on here that say we suck and PSU was "better" keep sniffing that airplane glue. MSU was completely cornholed by the refs tonight and PSu still barely won. Final stat of the night: when I turned it off PSU had scored their last FIFTEEN pts.from the line: unheard of.

This schtick gets realllll old. Sanctimonious, "we just suck so we lost". It's no better than whining because the breaks didn't go our way. This team doesn't suck. They played less than their best. Got some bad calls. PSU played their best game. End of story. If you think the Spartans suck, get off an MSU board and go the hell somewhere else. You're getting old real fast.

We look like a pretty soft team to me. Especially mentally. This reputation is unwarranted.

yet you refuse to acknowledge the play of our TEAM. We sucked ass tonight and deserved to lose.
Its real easy to pass blame, it takes a man to admit defeat yourself

This is the real point.
Tonight, I agree the refs jobbed us. But with you people it's always the ****ing refs! Every time! I can't recall a close loss in the past where there weren't a ton of people flat out blaming the refs for the loss.
And please stop with the, "I watch basketball games across the nation. . . ." You're watching those objectively, you're watching MSU with bias. Big difference.

I think PSU's FTs are a new record
Somebody check me on this, but I believe the previous record for most FT attempted against MSU was in Dec 1956 when Colorado had 49 FT attempts.
PSU had 51 FT attempts today.

I've had season tickets since 1990 and in all my watching of MSU basketball, I have never blamed a loss on the officials....until tonight.

I wont lay the blame on anyone in striped shirts.
But I will make the general comment.
You cant beat anyone giving up 51 free throws.
Not Penn State, not ****** State. You cant win when the other team shoots 51 free throws.
Big Ten road games are ridiculous.
The sad thing is, just like Iowa, this is gonna be another team we beat by at least 20 points at Breslin Center.

So you are saying tonights game was different than Iowa?
Both games the ref's played too big a role. They did not call the games the same for both teams.
Should MSU hit more than 20% behind the arc? Sure.
Should MSU step out and defend a three? Yes.
Could MSU have played better in both games? Yes.
But the ref's - once again - were huge factors in both the Iowa and PSU game. And yes, I am able to say I NEVER see games taken control by the ref's for one team like the two fore mentioned games.

In 6 years of reading this board, this might be the dumbest post I've seen.
And let me tell you, that's really saying something.

They said something to the effect that this was the record for the most free throw attempts in B10 history on the BTN after the game. But the guy fumbled with his words while stating this and may have meant something entirely different.

A -- I'm not just talking about this season.
B -- Yes. Tonight's game was markedly different than Iowa. We shot 30 percent against Iowa. We played well enough to win tonight.

I watched the whole game at a bar tonight in Bloomington Indiana, surrounded by Hoosiers who were pulling against MSU from the tip. They were appalled at the officiating. APALLED. I hate blaming the refs as much as the next guy, but let's be honest when the refs cost us the game. If we're honest, we all know that's what happened tonight.
Anyone who can't recognize that doesn't watch much college basketball.

According to the Media Guide, you are correct. This is a new opponent record for FT attempts.

We teach our kids not to foul. I learned that at a Bo Ryan clinic. Plus we all stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last nite.

I was at a bar in suburban Philadelphia. I see a ton of Penn State shirts, hats, bumper stickers, and window decals on people and cars all over here, but I was the only one watching the game...
Embarrassing to lose to a team that is that irrelevant. Luckily I didn't catch any **** since nobody was watching.
