Three titles.

IMHO, IU wouldn't even be the best job in the Big 10 right now, much less one of the best in the country.

A new basketball practice facility is slated to open in 2009.

Well, at the very least the Indystar fellow

Roe+Lucious+Raymar+Suton+Kalin+Allen+Summers=Izzo goes nowhere.
Oh wait, I forgot Gray.
Maybe Izzo leaves because he just can't take Marquise anymore?

Seriously. Izzo turned down the NBA twice, saying "I have a commitment to this program and that is to try to win another national championship". He declined to even talk to Kentucky when that job opened up.
Suddenly he'd rather take over a f-ed up Indiana program facing sanctions and post season bans than continue building something at MSU? No. Even putting my glass of green kool-aid down for a second, I just don't see this happening. I doubt he'd even talk to them about the possibility.

Izzo would probably tell them that Greg Montgomery or Dwayne Stephens is ready to go....

No offense, but you don't exactly have a track record to be "just kidding" when you say something stupid like that.
It's just bizarre.

IU would have a better chance of getting Izzo to coach their football team. No way he leaves MSU for another Big Ten hoops program.
Bloggers in general have even less credibility than Drew Sharp, Mitch Albom and Rob Parker -- in other words, none.

I've had a couple of people I know in the business call me and tell me that this guy wouldn't post it if it wasn't at least somewhat legit. He's apparently pretty credible and well-respected.
With that being said, I still think it's

IU is going to have a major meltdown when all the big names mentioned don't arrive on campus.

The Detroit boys put the bug in his ear Sunday at Breslin.
They want "Izzo-to-IU" rumors to hit full flame just as the BTT begins.
It'll be a subject of discussion in the Indy papers all week, one of the national columnists (ESPN, FOX, Yahoo) will pick it up, then Sharp or Parker will pick it back up again, "rumors are buzzing nationwide about Izzo's move to IU."
Better yet, I bet Parker throws it out on the ESPN barking-hyena show he's on in the mornings.
No better way to help sandbag/tank MSU in the tournament than fly a new round of "Izzo's ready to bolt" rumors up the flagpole.
