tOfficial Justin Abdelkader's NHL Debut - Detroit vs. Columbus - Thread
I am quite excited for this game. The Wings could wrap up the President's Trophy and Justin Abdelkader will be in the lineup, wearing #8.
Game starts at 7:30 on FSN Detroit (and in HD).

The B'hawks have owned them this year. Have the Wings beaten 'em more than once?
The Wings had better hope that the Hawks don't somehow pull off the 8th seed.

I told Scott in another thread that I wouldn't change it until he called an equally dramatic goal.

Yes. He is technically still an amateur, since he'll be playing under an Amateur Tryout contract tonight, but he is close to signing a three-year entry level contract with Detroit.
He may play in Grand Rapids tomorrow night.

Sigh. You're not the only one.
EDIT: That said, I'm still hoping that I won't have to extend my MSU hockey-related depression even longer than the off-season. The Kool-Aid dictates we'll beat the crap out of our non conference cupcakes in the early portion of the season, and I'll start feeling better.

Hey Scott, quick, not-hockey related question...
... were you doing the PA for the MSU softball game yesterday? Just curious.

The season starts in Boston at the Ice Breaker Tournament in October. And there's no trip to Alaska. That automatically makes it a good season!

Yeah, that's me. I've been doing the softball games for about 4 or 5 years now. Good CFB wins yesterday for both softball and baseball. And, for that matter, women's basketball as well!

Your opinion in regard to Alaska would be much nicer if you weren't forced to visit the cesspool that is Fairbanks bi-yearly in the dead of winter. Fairbanks is not a good representation of the state of Alaska.
And we're in the Icebreaker next year? Nifty.

Being a PA announcer myself, and being a tough critic and all, I'll just say that the person that was doing the PA needs to, one, stop clearing his throat so close to the microphone, and two, needs to work on player introductions a little bit. Other than that, fine.
While I was over at Kobs yesterday watching the ballgame, I couldn't stop thinking to myself, "Geez, that guy behind the microphone at the softball field sounds an awful lot like that Scott Moore fellow."
Edit: And now I know. Not bad overall. I approve.

I guess I can hijack my own thread, so I will.
What do you think of the incoming hockey recruiting class? It's tough to find information. I know there are some good players coming in, like Trevor Nill. Do they have the potential to be as good as the 2005 class with Kennedy, Abdelkader, and Crowder and do you think the team will still have a decent shot at a CCHA title despite the losses of Abdelkader, Mueller, Lerg, Vukovic, and potentially Kennedy?

Homer took a cortisone shot in the groin...
Glad I didn't have to take that one for the team.
