tOfficial RCMB Mud Hens outing (8/23, tentative)
Edit: Looks like we're going with August 23rd.
Trying to get this thing planned, so we don't run out of time like last year.
All of the Saturday home games for the rest of the season are at 7 pm.
June - 7, 14, 28
July - 26 (I left out the game on the 5th, due to the holiday weekend.)
August - 9, 23
Anyone have a game day preference? Conflicts?
(You can see the schedule, along with any special events planned at the park for the game here: The Toledo Mud Hens - Schedule - June 2008 )

If you go with August 23 the Tigers on the road, so there won't be any conflicts with anyone who has tickets to that game. Most of the other dates you listed the Tigers are at home. Just throwin' that out there.

Not a bad suggestion. August 23rd is fine with me. (I didn't check the Tigers home schedule - figured if there were any conflicts, the rest of you guys would point it out. Just listed all the remaining home Saturday games, minus 4th of July and Memorial Day weekends.)
Besides, gives us extra time to throw it together.

Later is probably better. I'd like to make one this year.

I'll just cut the voting now and call August 23rd the date. Later in the summer works better for me anyhow, and Todd had a good point about the Tigers schedule.
Guess the next step is coordinating a list of attendees? Hell, I dunno...never organized an RCMB event before. AA...any pointers?

Get money from people. They are less likely to bail and stick you with tickets if their cash is involved.

Rule #1: Always, always, always, ALWAYS get the money up front if you can get it.

How would you know? That's never happened to you, has it?
 Yes, get $$ upfront.

I am interested in this... I am unsure if I will be back in the midwest at this time, but if I am, I am for sure in.

This sounds unbelievably fun, although I'm not sure about the 23rd, since that's my birthday weekend...if the date is for sure, I'll see what I can do
EDIT: Scratch that. My birthday is in the middle of the week and the next Saturday is the season opener at night, so that's a better day for a party anyway

Only once in the history of RCMB Tiger outings has someone not been stiffed and had to eat tickets. I had thought of getting a PayPal account set up for the next one that I do.

That's not a bad idea.
Though depending on the size of the group, we could always do the standing room only seats for the Mud Hens. Then everyone can just purchase their own tickets. (There are picnic tables in the outfield anyhow...there's also a bar area w/open seating. So, "standing room only" doesn't mean that you actually have to stand the whole game.)
If the group happens to be 25+ though, you get a discount if you buy together. You also have the option of using one of the party decks, which could be fun.
But before thinking about that stuff, I want to see how many people we're looking at having there. If there's only going to be a group of 10-15, no point in wasting time thinking about those extras.

My vote is for anything but SRO I'd be totally willing to prepay, as would most people I'm sure...tRCMB really has some deadbeat debtors
Just looked, am I seeing this right, the only price is $9? Awesome

Typical, the only date that I have a conflict and will be out of town is the date you guys go with!
We'll have to do a smaller event on a Friday or Sunday afternoon ... or another Saturday night for the locals ...
Toledo - let me know when you're hitting up some games this summer ... it's always more fun drinking beer and watching baseball with a group!

If I can figure out a way to get there, count me in for sure.
And important news: I'll be 21 by then, so I may even have a beer (or a Mike's Hard - I haven't built up much of an alcohol tolerance after three years of not drinking in college ).

Went to the game tonight. Are the sea of picnic tables reserved or are they first come first serve? I know there are patios off the 2nd level in right and left field, but I guess those in the outfield could be reserve only as well.

Both. If there's a party going on, then they are obviously reserved. If there's no party, first come first serve.
