The way I see it is there are sometimes where he threaded the needle perfectly and made some of the craziest throws ever and others where he just flat out stunk.

Hoyer just needs to stop staring down his primary receiver and he'll be fine.

Well considering then we would have hiked the ball and just have it rolling there on the ground. . .
Hoyer was not great but the only game he cost us was the bowl game. Afew games were closer than they should have been but that only adds to the drama, right? Last year he was junior first-time starter. I will be disappointed if I didn't see progress this year. All in all, he was what seems to want from his QB's: don't lose games and we will win it with defense and a strong running game.

I just hope there is a real talent between Cousins and Foles.

They have fall practice and the NC games for one to break clear yet. Besides the Cal game we can expect some good playing time for both hopefully before the Big Ten season opens.

Hoyer is one of the worst quarterbacks since 2000.

Completely and utter disagree--quick, name me one game Hoyer actually won for us.

How is it Stanton's fault that JLS fielded the most inept Defense in MSU history and absolutely REFUSED to use talents like Caulcrick, Davis, & Thomas.

Hoyer won PSU and Purdue.
Who else would you have play QB?? RS Frosh? Come on, Hoyer is one of the better B11 QBs, he'll do fine this year. Senior QBs have a history of doing well in B11 play.

Purdue and PSU, You embarass yourself everytime you try to talk sports. It really is pathetic.

Did anyone go to the Spring game? How did he look? I feel like so much for this year rides on his ability to improve.
Also, the video I watched seemed to jokey and loose. I hope Dantonnio hasn't got soft. I feel like he needs to consistenly 'beat' toughness into this team. That is all.

I thought he looked pretty good at the Spring game. A couple passes that were deep and along the sideline were spot-on where no one but his receiver could catch it. Looked alot better in this year's spring game than last year's.

I agree with this.
I was pleased to see his deep ball in the spring game.
Also, having multiple receivers should help him next year.
I also hope for some improved play calling by Treadwell.

The biggest thing I'm worried about with him is his ability to check off his receivers and not stare them down the whole time. Hopefully, the multiple receivers that he has on the team this year will help solve this. At times last year, he would stare at Thomas the whole time and not look towards anyone else. I do blame some of this on Treadwell because he would call plays at times where there really wasn't another option for Hoyer.
His accuracy is definitely improved and if he learns to look at multiple receivers instead of just staring down the #1, he'll be one of the top QBs in the Big Ten, if not the country, this year. He's got the weapons to do great things.

@ PURDUE he certainly put the team on his back, he was great that day, he was damn good against IU, he threw 3 second half td's to bring us back against PSU.
I'd count atleast 2 games that we had to have to go bowling where he steped up and played big time.

you must've went to the wrong spring game. the wr's and qb play was what really stood out (along with run defense). All 3 QB's looked sharp

No kidding. The running game was horrible. If not for the QBs and WRs, the game would've ended by a score of 3-6.

Um, how exactly do you know that? Are you suggesting that they ran alot of 1 or 2 man routes?

Actually, if Blair White made the plays he should have, MSU wins the game and Hoyer's bad day is a bad footnote on the game.
The root cause of the loss is Blaire White.
