The Wings should dress McCarty, and send him out with the express instructions to drive Ribeiro's head through the ice.

If you won't get suspended for a blatant cheap shot to a goalies neck region, than I would have one player after every game two-hand Turco until his shoulder separated.

That is a joke ruling

I'm surprised. That being said the Wings won't run Turko, they don't have to.

Yeah. I really can't believe that swinging a stick at an opponent is now considered an offense worthy of no more than a match penalty and a fine.

Also, if Osgood was fined for his butt end, Chelios should have definitely been fined for his. That was much worse than anything Osgood did.

For real. If that douche wouldn't have hit Osgood, would the NHL have fined Ozzie? Don't think so.

That said, let's bring McCarty in or call in Downey to beat the living **** out of that *******.

So the NHL is simply saying that you can take a BC 2-hander to someone after the game is over with little or no reprimand. Why not do it every game?

Certainly not, because every goalie does it. Often during normal game play to slow up opposing players going behind the net, especially to protect defensemen from being hit hard. It can and sometimes is called interference (and it is, no question about that). In Osgood's case, since the stick got up into Ribeiro's face, it should have been a simple two minute minor for high sticking.

That's a good point. I wonder what would happen if McCarty went and took a swing at Turco after tomorrow's game.

The worst part is that Barry Melrose stated that what Osgood did was worse than what Ribero did and that he would have done the same thing . Osgood is not angel in this but he was not trying to butt end Ribero, he was trying to slow him down and accidentally caught him with the butt end. Osgood was not trying to hurt Ribero but Ribero was trying to hurt Osgood, that is the difference in my mind.

A lot of people dont mean to high stick, but still do. Osgood should have just kept his arms down and nothing would have gone on.

Sorry. I didn't record the game.

Chelios' was skating in the defensive zone and jabbed a Stars' player in the face with the butt end. He was called for a 2 minute high sticking penalty.

Osgood was trying to protect Rafalski behind the net. Every goaltender does the same thing Osgood did.

This happens in a lot of games at the end. All goalies dont just extend their arm out. These guys are hockey players not sissys.
