Anyone ever stay at the Biltmore?

Wife and kids are heading up in late June. Did you enjoy the stay?

We went in February, but rented a house in the mountains. The Biltmore itself was really cool, just skip the winery, it's a waste of time. Take a day trip up to Hot Springs and rent a tub for the family.

It's a cute little spot. Reminds me of my place in Monaco.

Where are you going to summer this year? I was planning on staying at my country estate in Wales.

I believe so. Katerine Zeta-Jones isn't using her place this season. At least, not since the last time I spoke with her. I'll have my people get in touch with her people.

If by staying AT the Biltmore, you mean one one of the cottages on site, pass. Way over priced. Stay at a local hotel and take the tour. That's worth it.

Best hotel in Providence, but Rhode Island doesn't strike me as your kind of destination, TF.

Tanfan - Check out staying at the Grove Park Inn and then touring Biltmore as another poster suggested. The GPI is an awesome place, as is Asheville in general....

I've stayed at the Inn at Biltmore and it was very nice, but very pricey. We were there for a wedding so it was nice to sort of be forced to stay there. I second the suggestion that you stay at the Grove Park Inn and tour Biltmore. The Grove Park is very nice, not as expensive, and more down-to-earth. If you change your mind and stay at the Grove Park, make sure you ask for a room in the old section of the hotel. The spa at the Grove Park is second to none. There's a ton to do in Asheville and they have a really good concierge at the Grove Park to help with all that.

Newport is great. There are many people there for whom 'summer' is a verb.

I stay at the Red Roof Inn just outside of Newport, but once I sport my ascot and order a Pimm's Cup, everyone thinks I'm summering, too.
