That's the plan but I figured it would help to have some info on where to look before we went out there to save us some time/frustration. Thanks again everyone for your input, we'll be heading out at the beginning of next week to look at all the areas in person.

Here's a tip - get off I-96 at M-104 and drive the 14 miles into GH. Once you cross the bridge go right at the first light (Jackson St.). Drive around Grand Haven a bit then take US-31 north to Muskegon. I wager you'll want to go back to Grand Haven

Thanks for all the advice everyone. We ended up getting an apartment at Forest Lake apartments (a DTN managed place but it isn't a ****hole like most DTN places in EL). It's on the edge of Muskegon and Norton Shores (technically in Norton Shores) so we aren't in a crap neighborhood. Hopefully I'm not S. Nicking myself by giving this info but I figured those of you who gave advice would be curious about where we decided to live.
