His family is anti-UofM as well, from what i hears.
I think Oklahoma really did something to confuse Nichol, I'm glad it's working out.

what about stand on the sidelines? can he travel with the team?

This is true. Nichol will be able to join the team for the offseason stuff, summer and fall practice, and attend all of the games. Of course, he won't dress for the games but that's really the only thing he won't do.

He could, but I don't see why he would travel since you don't travel with a full roster.

umaa showed interest, but dickrod was too busy battling the courts over his indiscretions. KN would have been an instant starter at umaa. they wanted him bad but they lack the work ethic to get it done.
He would have had a year in the system and would have been ready to compete for the starting job this spring. He would have been well ahead of the true freshman coming in.
Anyone who uses the argument that a true frosh would be ahead of KN on the depth chart is pretty stupid.

To be honest, I don't think this is a blow for scUM (and I hate scUM as much as anyone).
Nichol is a talented guy, but scUM already has two QB's coming in for that class... and remember, RR doesn't like ACTUAL QB's, but guys that can run really fast and OCCASIONALLY throw the ball, like Pat White.
That's why he got the two QB's he got, and why Nichol wasn't the ideal guy for his system.

FWIU, teams are limited on who gets to be on the sidelines. So, I am not sure how that would work out. No doubt he'd do the same thing that Trevor Anderson did last year.

So who switches positions? Nick Foles or Keith Nichol?
(I really can't see Cousins switching to anything as he has no speed)

According to a high school coach that posted on SM, Nichol played in a spread option offense in hs. The thing with KN though is that he is very talented in the passing game so it was logical to mix it up.
KN would have a huge leg up at umaa over the incoming players.
Also, dickrod will be changing his offense to meet the capabilities of the players and the level of competition. He is a D1 college coach, so I will give him the benefit of the doubt and believe that he will add in more pro-style schemes knowing that his qb will be killed in the big ten.

You're completely clueless dude. I'm not even going to argue with you since it's clear you're just a schtick. All I'll say is this... could he have started at Michigan? Sure, of course he could since he's talented. Did Michigan show interest? no. And your part about not having the work ethic is the green light that you're a scthick. Come back when you're ready to stop being an idiot.

None of them have enough speed or skill sets for any other position other than QB.

Neither. Both are QB's. Depth never hurt. One of them will obviously have to lose the position battle and be relegated to clipboard duty (or both assuming Cousins competes too). Whoever doesnt like their spot on the bench can transfer (either Foles or Cousins since Nichol wont transfer twice). In any case, it does not matter. We have upgraded at the position.
The only negative from this would be if Maxwell flops because of it.

you michigan fans are really taking this hard. you are clueless...if umaa did not recruit KN as you want to believe, then the umaa staff is either really really retarded or they lack the type of work ethic needed to be successful in the big ten.
you aren't helping your argument at all...

If true then good. I was never one to get into the bashing. Nothing wrong with gettin more talent. Any chance that he goes to another position with the numbers at QB?

Hoyer is already penciled in for starter in 2008.
Nichol has no bearing on 2008 since he is ineligible for competition.

Dude, he was an Elite 11 QB and has some experience playing QB for a team like Oklahoma... he's not just some random transfer.
Solid QB. Solid get by MD and MSU football.
