Look, I can appreciate physical play and hard fouls within the context of the flow of the game. These guys (Bowen and Horry) go out of their way to injure and intimidate players away from the ball. Gutless.
and then you add in Horry fouling West hard in the back (knowing full well the guy had back problems) I agree with what i heard on espn today. It was a dirty foul in the context of the game West went to try and break up the pass and horry planted himself (and in the video almost looks like he lowers his shoulder a bit into wests back) into west sending NO's second best player crashing to the ground in agony. If it had been almost anyone else I wouldn't have thought twice but this is the same guy that hip checked Nash last year. Theres a history of him doing this kind of stuff.

I was watching the game last night with a pal from San Antonio who is a big Spurs fan. He said most Spurs fans hate the way Ginobili and Bowen flop so much, because he detracts from the fact that the Spurs are a great, great basketball team. Ginobili is a spectacular offensive player, but it's completely overshadowed by the flopping.

BTW, the two offensive fouls on Chris Paul were legit. He gave Bowen a stiff arm to the face on one, and created separation with a forearm to the chest on the second.

No, the first one was borderline and the second one was a complete dive, Paul never even extended his arm and Bowen went flying away from him like he was shot out of a cannon.

2 of those 4 fouls in succession on Paul and West needed to be no calls or fouls on the Spurs

The first one wasn't borderline. You might be able to gripe about the second. But if you're Chris Paul, and you just got called for an offensive foul on the last trip down the floor, how can you expect to try the same move in the exact same situation 20 seconds later and not a get whistled for it?

Just youtube either of them and you will see an amazing assortment of dirty plays.

There is always this beauty..

He didn't try the same move, a guy running away from you, then slowing down so you run into him, and then him starting to run away from Paul again feigning a push from Paul(weak foul in any situation, see Manu FLOPobili) is not the same as going up for a layup and brushing off the guys arm (yes a foul, but also a good foul to swallow the whistle on during the playoffs)...
