I was a fan of the BBC series first. Didn't start watching the US version until halfway through season 2 because I assumed it was crap that would never live up the the original (which it doesn't, but is still great in it's own way)

But you are right. A couple of times watching David I got so uncomfortable I had to walk away from the TV (but for some reason that dance pictured wasn't one of them.)
