Never trashed him. He committed to MSU way too early.
Imagine locking down your Prom date in 10th grade. You get to 12th grade, and your committed date now seems average. Yet other hotter chicks are interested in you. What do you do?

This is a very good point.
I never trashed Nichol -- in fact, I understood his reasons for decommitting. He was already looking elsewhere before JLS was fired, and MSU's record for hiring coaches wasn't exactly stellar. He had no reason to believe at the time that Dantonio was going to be any different, but if he wants to play for MD and the Spartans, I say welcome aboard. I just hope he doesn't think that getting onto the field is going to be any easier at MSU than it was at OU -- he's going to have to earn it, and Foles, Cousins and Maxwell aren't going to hand him the keys.
The only beef any Spartan fan can reasonably have with Nichol is the way he reaffirmed his commitment days before he jumped ship, but at the end of the day, that's just PR gone awry.
Welcome to MSU, Keith!

I don't think that I did. I couldn't blame him for transferring after Slappy left, but he might have gone the wrong way about it. If he is back at State, then welcome back. I am just glad that he is not going to scUM.

Bam. Couldn't have said it better myself. The kid was heart broken when JLS left, he got sold a bill of goods from one of the nations best programs. Easy decision.

I probably ripped the kid...but hey people make mistakes. He was a Spartan at heart.
But he'd better not be foolin' with me.

If people do their home work they will find Palin will destroy his campaign as the maverick. In less than 5 minutes I googled and found that after 6 years as mayor, taxes increased 38%, she tried to ban books at the public library, she slashed funding for teen mothers. And my favorite is, she could not even run a car wash. If McCain had any good judgment he would dump her faster than his first wife.

Like I said, a benefit of being level-headed (for the most part) is that I don't get a lot of stuff bumped back up later that was posted out of anger. I didn't rip into Keith for his decision. It was just disappointing at the time.

I think I can say I never ripped the kid in public or on a message board, but personally I didn't wish him the best when he bolted after visiting OU. I thought he should have given Dantonio a chance, but hindsight is always 20/20.

Let's not go overboard here...

They both look like short bowling balls. Take your pick.

Good for all of you.
F Nichol
I defended him when he de-committed and signed with OU, but then a year later he's already looking to transfer? F him. And I've never said that about ANY MSU player in the past. I will never be a Keith Nichol fan and hope that Foles beats him out for the postiion.

I think there's too little to get excited about right now. If he does well, great, but I'm not sure he will competing with two other decent QBs in a pro style offense.

I was certainly disappointed at the time, but I'm pretty sure I never trashed him - at least not out loud.
Welcome Keith.
