But EVERYONE will remember Terry slipping when he had an open net to win the Champions League.
Yeah, I don't blame anyone. But if you had to blame someone for the loss, Terry would certainly not be my first choice. Sadly, though, you're right: he always be remembered as the one who missed the winning PK.

Terry should remember that if he didn't save Giggs from scoring in the open net, they don't go to penalties.

I almost forgot about that.

Wow. He could've been the hero... game-saving header and game-winning shot.

Instead, we'll remember this game as the one with Terry and "The Slip"

It really pains me to see Cristiano Ronaldo collect a winner's medal and John Terry get the runner's up.

Absolutely heartbreaking.

I love John Terry. I always will. If not for his header on Giggs, the Blues don't even get to penalties.

I just want to know why he took the kick. Kalou had yet to go, Anelka had yet to go. Why put a defender where a striker should finish? And why was Beletti put on instead of Shevchenko?

God, I wanted Ronaldo to be the goat so badly. And Chelsea hit two posts!

Unbelievable.

I love him too. Sucks badly to see him miss that shot. Nothing you can do about it though. I'll still wear his jersey with pride.

Whiny Ronaldo should've been the goat, not Terry.

On another note: I hate shootouts.

He's only 27

I know this was their first appearance in the final, but I would expect them to have a few more chances at it before he's all done.

Ouch...this one hurt. I feel bad for JT most of all. Dude gives 100% for the club every time he is on a pitch. His save of the goal is something legends are made of. Sadly, that will not be what he will be remembered for tonight.

Well played to United. They have had a fantastic team and a great season. Ronaldo is CLEARLY the best player in the world. I would also like to congratulate my Blues. After Mourinho got fired I thought they would win nothing all year. I happened to be correct but I didn't think they would take United to the wire like this. So well played to all and one day I hope we're back.

In other news Didier Drogba is a ****ing disgrace. ****ing **** should be kicked out the ****ing door on his ass. Great striker or not there is no room in the game for that type of behavior. Huntelaar and Benzema will do just fine this summer.

As I said. Well done to United and at least Chelsea didn't lose to Liverpool this year.

Also kudos to whoever made the "scouse free zone" sign...brilliant.

I don't see that team, with that coach, making it back.

If some things change, sure... but not this team.

I tell you what-after seeing the slo-mo replay... he didn't slip. The left leg plants solidly as he shoots, then he just kind of falls down.

Just finished watching on DVR. Managed to avoid the score for once. Two reactions: 1) Aw crap. 2) Fire Tommy Smith.

Watch the game again if you taped it. Tommy Smith must have been completely wrong 15 times. Unbelievable. I've always hated him, but tonight he was ****ing awful.

We win, you lose.

Does choosing ManU in around 1994 make me a bandwagon fan? I mean, my other choices were the Detroit Rockers, and how could my favorite team include my JV soccer coach (he was the goalie).

Sadly, my top man Scholesy got hurt there and had a big drop off since the last game. Cmon, you Red!

Glory, Glory ManUnited!!

Thanks JT for the Double!

That was an epic soccer game, just incredibly entertaining. I'm only a casual fan and I didn't care at all who won, but that was truthfully better than any NBA or NHL playoff game I've seen this year.

I feel so bad for that Terry dude, especially after that incredible game saving header in extra time.

.

There will never be a soccer game more exciting than a hockey or basketball game. Was it 0-0 with each team having 6 shots on goal.

It's funny that you're attempting to make an argument while making it plainly obvious that you have absolutely no evidence regarding the game that took place today.
