I wrote to athletes when I was in elementary school. IIRC, I received back David Robinson, Alexander Mogilny, and Pat LaFantaine.

I'm thinking mine will go something like..........
I think you are a brilliant actress. I can't wait to see you in your future endeavors. Would you please send an autograph photo? I would really appreciate it.
Thanks,

My daughter does it all the time. she gets 'em every time. The longest she's ever had to wait was 9 months from Steve Yzerman. They all respond though.

I wrote one to Slim Shady, but I never head back. There probably was a problem at the post office or somethin. Sometimes I scribble addresses too sloppy when I jot 'em

We had to write to one in elementary school. So I wrote to Curtis Martin. He sent a hand written letter and an autographed rookie card, now worth like 50 bucks.

I used to write athletes all the time when I was younger. I would put a baseball card or two with a return envelope and a little note telling them that they were my favorite player and ask them to sign the cards and then send them back. It usually worked.
Some of the autographs I got were Allan Trammell, Lou Whitiker (sp?), Cecil Fielder, Nolan Ryan, David Robinson, Steve Sax, George Brett, and John Smoltz There were a couple others I can't remember. Its funny that usually I would get the cards back a couple weeks later. I remember sending Matt Nokes a card a couple times and each time it took about a year to get back! Matt Nokes must have gotten tons of fan mail!

I used to send out cards or letters to athletes all the time and ask them for their autograph. The only 2 I ever received back from were...
1.) Cal Ripken
2.) Grant Hill
...both signatures were fake...what I mean by that is they were obviously stamps and not real autographs but nevertheless it was a thrill for me

If you write to Muhammad Ali, he will always get back to you. It may take awhile.

Here is what I wrote...
Dear *****,
I just wanted to write and say that I think you are a brilliant actress. I have enjoyed all of your work from **** ****, *** *** ** **, and all of the guest appearances in TV shows to the films that you have took part in that have been available to see. I’m looking forward to seeing the upcoming movies you have coming out and what your future endeavors are. I was wondering if you could send an autograph photo. I would really appreciate it.
Thank You,

You should send something for them to sign and enclose a SASE. It does cost them money and if their not that rich they may not send you one. Writing letters and asking for autgraphs is a nice hobby and still very popular. Go for it. You don't have much to lose.
