The Incredibles was a great movie. Actually, I read an interview from the creator, and it was actually written to be a movie for adults, but obviously Pixar and Disney marketed it more towards kids, because they're...well, Disney and Pixar.
Wall-E looks good. I'm sure I'll end up seeing it with my nephew and niece.

Toy Story 1 and 2 were the best. Is Finding Nemo a Pixar film? Also a good one.

Just got back from seeing it. Though it was absolutely brilliant. The first half-hour was really visually stunning. I also appreciated all of the references to other sci-fi movies and older technology. Excellent film.

Is this thread limited to Pixar flicks?
I just saw Kung Fu Panda, thought it was pretty damn good...
Also, I'm jacked up about Madagascar 2 (1 is probably my fave among the kids videos) ...

I liked the Toy Stories also... know every word to Monsters, Inc.
Nemo was OK... Bug's Life is the forgotten one... that was still pretty good.

The Wall Street Journal critic loves it so much that he’s writing more tomorrow. The NPR reviewer said “I envy you your first viewing – those 93 minutes of wonder to come.”

This movie is incredible. It easily moves into my top spot of animated movies, surpassing Finding Nemo. Not only is the animation incredible, but the story is excellent and not just limited to being a "kid's movie." Great show!

Took the 4 year old to see it this afternoon. I thought the visuals were great, but the storyline was pretty boring. I thought Toy Story and The Incredibles blew this one away.

We saw it last night. (Took the kids to the drive-in...they've been to movies before, but it was their first time at the drive-in.)
I thought it was...okay, I guess. We won't be buying the DVD, and my kids probably won't care to see it again.
My husband, on the other hand, wanted to jab his eyes out with a fork the whole movie. He hated it. I think I recall hearing him say that it "sucked balls" or something to that effect.
I'm cringing at the thought of seeing a commercial for Wall-E on TV with him, because I know that every time one comes on I'll have to hear my husband rant about how much he hated it.

This is the first time I've actually wanted to see a Pixar movie in a theater. Looks great... and yeah, reminds me of Short Circuit

Wow, why did he hate it? I loved it...the computer animation was the best I've seen yet, and I'd rather see this type of CGI than the crap that get mixed with "real" movies like The Hulk and Hancock. Not a strong story line, definitely predictable, but certainly enjoyable. Does anyone REALLY expect an award winning plot when you go to see a movie like this? It was a fun, Sunday afternoon movie to watch with some visually stunning graphics.
As an aside, my gf and I arrived at the theater right around showtime. After waiting in line for the tix and then the concession stand, we ran to the theater, found our seats and sat down to catch the last preview. Then the movie started. I kept waiting for this intro animated cartoon to start that I had read about earlier today in another thread. Instead, something else started. No computer animation, but real actors...in an office building of some sort...and then, it switched to the main character going balls deep into a woman on a desk! My gf and I looked at each other and said in unison, "We're in the WRONG theater!" We got up and walked out and looked at the tix...they said "Wanted" instead of "Wall-E." The kid at the counter apparently thought I said "Wanted" when I asked for two tix to "Wall-E", and in our haste, we didn't even notice the movie title on the ticket. We heard "theater 12" from the ticket-taker and headed that way in a hurry.

Yes mos definatly. Our six year old was quiet and paid attention the entire time and that is unheard of in our household.

Caught it in DLP and it's gorgeous. Pretty damn good movie, as usual from Pixar.

Agreed. I like the film better on the earth scenes. I kind of got bored with all the stuff in space. Overall, it was entertaining and worth the $4 ticket! Thank God for cheap theaters!

I'll have to have him respond why exactly he hated it...I'm not sure I know the exact reasons.
Honestly, I wouldn't say that I "liked" it either though I wouldn't go to the extent of saying that I "hated" it like my husband did.
Only reason I stuck through the whole thing is because we had paid good money to see it at the theater. If the movie had been on DVD at home, I wouldn't have stayed in the room to watch the whole thing...just didn't hold my interest that much. There were lots of very slow points in the storyline. And I usually enjoy a lot of the animated movies that we watch with our kids. I don't generally care about being impressed by graphics...the story is what holds (or doesn't hold) my interest.
(Actually, I was the only one in the family who actually paid attention to the whole thing...my son fell asleep, and I'm pretty sure my daughter dozed off by the very end too. )

I think the dearth of actual speaking characters was the reason for it all. Just my guess.

I saw both a press release and a TV show regarding Pixar that stated this fact. Neither were online.
edit: Cars 2
Toy Story 3 (2010)
I just saw Wall-E yesterday. It was good but not as good as any of the previous Pixar movies in my opinion. Too much message and not enough action or dialogue.

Loved it. It might be my favorite Pixar movie now. I'll have to see how it holds up to repeat viewings.

was there another short story film at the front end?
Those are almost as good as the movies are
