dirtballs are best treated with a little privacy and a moist towelette.

if it just magically appeared, it may also be a planters wart I am dealing with one of those right now...what a pain in the arse. Razor blade and some over the counter acid seems to be doing its job, but its a slow process...

That could be too. It's right on the ball of my right foot.

Plantar's warts can resolve themselves sometimes. I had two recently and just kept them covered and after about six weeks they faded away. Warts are from a virus and your immune system should deal with them eventually.

My buddy had them fresman year long time ago. He went to Olin to have one removed and told me what they did. Sprayed it with compressed gas and froze it but basically they were total pussys about it and wanted him to go back 3-4 times and it was hurting him to walk.

So I put on gloves, flipped over a can of computer dust and froze the **** out of it then he pulled off the dead **** with needle nose pliers. That part looked like it hurt like hell but he was being a "tough guy".

One treatment and it was 90% gone in a week... totally gone on second attempt.

Dorm room surgery...

Way to go MacGyver!

I went to the dermatologist once and he froze it off but it was just one appt with no follow up. As for Olin...well, it is what it is.

My son had one surgically removed last year - one of the worst experiences of my life. His was huge, the size of a quarter right in the middle of the ball of his left foot. It was also thick and raised up about a quarter to 3/8 of an inch.

The worst part was holding him down when they gave him a shot in the middle of the wart. Screamed like I could not believe. Afterward the doctor said he did better than most and that when his own daughter had to have one removed he couldn't even be inthe room because she was screaming so badly.

Freezing one with computer cleaner and then tackling it with needle nose pliers? - that is flat out balls to the wall right there. Hat's off to you.

They are caused by a variation of the Human Papiloma Virus...or the same virus that can give you the Herp and cervical cancer.

A home-made remedy is to wrap it tightly in ducktape for a month or so and not remove that ducktape until it is gone. Smothers the skin and wart, killing it.
