Bright house better get going. They won't have the same leverege Comcast did due to smaller subscriber base in SE Mich, but I would hope B10 Net would cut fair deal with them...

From an article dated August 14, 2008...

Big Ten Network to debut on Comcast | IndyStar.com | The Indianapolis Star

Quote:
Time Warner, which serves Terre Haute, Ind., and Bright House, which serves parts of the Indianapolis area, do not offer the Big Ten Network.

Comcast announced a deal to carry the channel in June after long and acrimonious negotiations.

Time Warner is negotiating on behalf of Bright House, which has the option to opt into any deal. Big Ten Network spokeswoman Elizabeth Conlisk said Wednesday the network and Time Warner are "pretty far apart" in the negotiations.

I'm also a very frustrated BH subscriber & this is getting ridiculous. I'm going to keep e-mailing them & calling to complain. If they can't get a deal done by September,,,I've switching to dish or AT&T.

I sent them an e-mail asking for a status.

Here's their less than stellar response.

Thank you for the inquiry. We are currently negotiating with the Big Ten Network. We should know before the football season begins.

We should know? Know what?

Anyone know more about Broadstripe (nee Millenium Digital Media) and the BTN? Many of the smaller communities surrounding Lansing are served by Broadstripe, btw.

Got this email today:

Bright House Networks (BHN) and the Big Ten Network (BTN) have reached an
agreement-in-principle on terms of carriage for the Big Ten Network and its
HD and Video on Demand (VOD) programming on BHN line-ups throughout the Big
Ten territory. The agreement will ensure that BHN customers in Detroit,
Michigan and Indianapolis, Indiana will have access to this Saturday's Big
Ten college football season openers and all future Big Ten Network
programming.

(probably already posted, but the brief search I did just brought up the time warner stuff)
