Cigarette butts that end up in the water frequently KILL marine life.

Jesus H...I don't smoke any more, but smokers are treated like second class citizens now. Can't smoke in buildings, airports, BARS, (or even designated areas)
or 15 bloody feet from buildings...
I understand not smoking in all buildings but bars, but when folks start complaining about smokers outside of these places, I have no sympathy for them. How 'bout folks stop being f-in pansies and live with the fact that some people have an unfortunate addiction.

But, but, but, I had to walk through a CLOUD of smoke for TWO seconds on my way to work today! I had to walk past a SMOKER, and I smelled SMOKE! Don't you know how awful that is? I'm going to get 15 kinds of cancer and die tomorrow all because of that cloud of smoke.

He didn't say don't smoke, he said don't leave your cig butt on the beach. I don't think that's too much to ask.

maybe they are trying to help the environment, cigarette butts are biodegradable, whereas if they are going to store and carry the butt, they will likely be putting in a non-biodegradable plastic bag. so how about you all stop being selfish and think about the environment the next time you're complaining about a cigarette butt.

I don't go whining to the forum whenever I find a McDonald's wrapper lying out in some parking lot.
Nothing wrong with some bush peeking its head into the neighbors yard either IMO. Gives a man something to think about when he's at the beach with his family.

Your reading comprehension sucks. I didn't complain about smokers smoking outside. I complained about them throwing their cigarette butts all over the ****ing beach. Why is it ok for them to do that, but not ok for me to throw gum wrappers and doritos bags all over the beach?

The cigarette butts produced by dumb ass smokers are not biogradable.

Smoking in public is much like going to the bathroom in public: it's dirty; it smells bad; and it's unhealthy for everyone around.
Where did these poor unfortunate addicts acquire the "right" to drop their butts wherever they want? Every time I see a butt on the street or anywhere else other than an ashtray I become more and more anti-smoking AND anti-smoker. When they grow up and get considerate about where they put their butts, I'll consider becoming considerate of them but not until.

Gee, I don't know...perhaps the 500-plus years of tobacco smoking in this country?

Look at the ground next to any busy interstate exit. Whenever I stop at the Ford Rd. I-275 exit in Canton, I notice THOUSANDS of cigarette butts all over the shoulder and in the grass. They don't seem to be degrading very quickly. It looks dirty.

Yes, and I'm sure this is much, much worse than the thousands of pounds of nonbiodegradable plastic you yourself contribute to landfills every year, champ.

That's what landfills are for, champ.
I suppose the difference between putting trash in a landfill and on the side of the road is lost on you.
