He didn't say MSU beats them all the time. If he did, he'd say something like, "we beat them all the time now." Every other time is pretty regular.

FWIW, I think Carroll is a good writer. Wrote some excellent stuff after each game (loss) last year. He was just espousing the ND koolaid. And while ND wannabees are horrible, walmart weasels are much worse.

So, what you are saying is that each team beats each other regularly?

So how did you determine that the last 6 games equals "now"? Seems obvious that he specifically referenced the late 90's to indicate his "now".

The late 90's being used as "now" is only because it benefits MSU. If MSU beats, say, UM this year, then "now" is 2008 and only 2008. Previous years won't be considered because of the frequent defeats. It's a fans (all fans of all schools/teams, not just MSU) way of elevating their team in their own mind.

Maybe I should have said that now is the previous 4 years. Series would still be split.
Or, maybe I should have went with the past 2 years. Yep, series is still split.
Now if I went with the past year, then MSU holds an advantage. 1-0

Dolt - Late 90s is being used because he's providing perspective of when Mel started watching MSU football. You, on the other hand, chose the last 6 games to be a jerk.

(Sorry Hans...couldn't stop myself.)

Dolt? Being a jerk? That's a mature approach. It's that in retaliation for me attacking you? Oh that's right, I didn't.

Yes, he said that his wife started watching MSU in the late 90's. Then he said the MSU beats ND regularly "now". The 90's are almost 10 years ago. 10 years ago isn't now. I simply pointed out that in the time frame that most would consider "now", the series has been win one, loss win. Am I wrong?

ND fans couldn't even argue against MSU pretty much owning the series for the last decade +.

What time frame do you consider to be "now"?

Jesus Christ did.

I'm asking a simple question to gain a little perspective here. No need for the misguided anger you're displaying.

Who said I'm angry? Don't mistake my namecalling for being angry. I was just responding to the illogical but somehow unnecessarily wordy and condescending argument you were making. But I was never angry...well not "now", at least.

why let an nd slappy highjack a thread?

Point being what a joke nd is, how the play their TE is remembered for is when he and the tb tackled and then punched a PSU player, and how a guy who caught one ball for all of 4 yards and who's blocking contributed to one of the worst offensive lines in major college football history, yet due to BS nd hype, is on the Mackey early watch list.

And even better, that they had another TE who has highly rated but was part of the transfer train that was last season.

A nice recap:

ND loses best overall player BY FAR (laws), second-best player in zibowski and third best player in that corner from last year's trainwreck, fourth-best player in the center, and has now also lost their te....

No kidding. ND may not win a game this year. Perhaps a move to D1AA soon?

If you went to MSU in the '80s, you'd get it. I utterly hate them, I don't care if they helped us get in the Big Ten. They probably did it so they wouldn't have to.

How about 8 out of the last 11. That's more than "pretty regular."

Never happened. ND never does anything bad, likely USC fans dressed like ND students.
