Who is this year's Devin Thomas?
Seems like every year a player comes out of nowhere...last year on O it was DT...on Defense St. Dic played like a monster. Julian Peterson is another great example...so who will it be this year? Name one offensive and one defensive player that made little or no impact last year that will do so this year. And I don't think we can count Trevor in this category, we all expect him to be huge from Day 1. I'm talking players on the roster or freshmen who will step it up and lead us to victory!

Offense: B.J. Cunningham
Defense: Ishmyl Johnson
Special Teams: Fred Smith or B.J. Cunningham on kick returns.

I think the coaches have been pretty clear that Ish has a long way to go...

I don't think there will be a "Devin Thomas"...at least not on offense. I think what will happen is that we will see greater contributions from a variety of players. Instead of having a guy with 80 catches and the rest with 35 or less, you will see a more even distribution.

Every year we have a guy go from bench warmer to NFL first rounder ? More like every decade.

Deon is a solid route runner, move the chains guy. He lacks the breakaway speed to get the YAC that Devin Thomas did. Deon will be a solid receiver for us this year, but nothing spectacular.

Mark Dell, but that shouldn't be much of a surprise.
Is Charlie Gantt going to play this year?

that's not what i meant...just that a player steps up to contribute to wins.
I do agree that Hoyer will have to distribute the ball more, but I think Curry will be the leader in the WR corps. He showed some flashes last year and I think he can become our go to guy.
I expect Eric Gordon to have an all-big ten season. he looked very good last year and I think he'll only get better and end up another in a long line of great spartan LBs!

BJ Cunningham in the DT role
Andrew Hawken in the Jehuu role
Mark Dell in the vastly-improved Mark Dell role

I just don't see that. He may play a bigger role out of the backfield in the passing game, but I feel that there are too many talented RBs in the system right now to move a FB to the RB spot.

Add to that: Greg Jones in Greg Jones' improved role at both MIKE and SAM
KDC at FS and Chris L. Rucker at CB

He was 6' 2'' 220. Not borderline TE. He's at least 2 inches too short and 25 lbs too small.

Were I a betting man, I'd set the over/under on Hawken TDs at 12 on the ground and 5 through the air. You're going to see him WIDE OPEN in the end zone on play action this year.
He's My Spartan, after all.
