Do the Spartans cover?
I'm a Michigan fan and see MSU as a possible big money maker this weekend. Going out there with an experienced QB is huge as far as covering goes. I know they have the horses to win on offense, but how's the defense shaping up? I'll be the first to tell you I haven't done much research yet for this game (plan on it later in the week). However, in your honest opinion, do the Spartans cover this weekend?

I don't know if the Spartans cover, but the lock of the week is Utah +3.5.

The last time I looked (Mandalay Bay Sports Book on Wed night) it was Cal -4, so the money is going on State right now as the spread was -7. Obviously, this was a better bet a couple weeks ago.

KDC is underrated at Safety. He feels more like a safety. He's lethal as a blitzer from the outside, and can really fill and make tackles. When RJ comes back, he may not win his spot back.
KDC had 72 tackles (44 unassisted) and 5.5 TFLs (4 of which were sacks) those sound like safety numbers our of a corner. And at FS, he will use both his coverage skills and hitting skills.

Robbing Peter to pay Paul just proves that we have no depth. Bet the house on Cal.

Any UM fan should. It's probably a trailer, though.

You probably will have no problem betting your house on the game, but are you willing to put up your heavily-invested spank bank?

I "won" vBookie two of the three years.
It is only zero because I bet my wad already and am waiting to be enriched.
Bet the trailer on Cal.

Hopefully your house doesn't go the way of your wad.

tEnlightenedSpartan likes MSU...that alone should be enough for you to put the mortgage on the Golden Bares.

So if MSU upsets Cal by only 2 or 3 points, his bet on Call will pay off?

Frankly, I expect to win. Spread was 5, CAL favored, last I looked. I think we keep it closer than that, and/or win outright. Defense should be every bit as strong as last year. D-Line has been plugged by two good players, linebackers are larger, faster, stronger than last season, and the DB's are going to be better, if only because of experience and one more year in the system. No more 5'8" RB converts in the DBackfield. They can run, they can hit. And Anderson is a difference-maker.
As I said, I expect a tough game, but an MSU win.

Three times you say, bet the house on CAL. And you bet every dime of vBookie cash you have on MSU to cover.

Best answer. As we all know MSU can put up a crazy win or a crazy loss easily...although should be more consistent w/ Dantonio at the helm.

Yep. no matter what, i see 4 and change as too much to pass...take the spartans, the pts and the bank. a three-five pt game seems a given, either way.
i have 2 grrrr on this thing already and if i have one more cocktail may add 2 more!
GO GREEN!

I agree this game is just way too close to call I'm staying away from it with a 10 foot poll. I usually gamble on State games but not on this one. The spread was 7 but now Cal is only favored by 4. It shows that the early bets were on MSU that is a big difference on the line.
