Atlanta Spartans

You have a choice this year! If you don't get the newsletter you don't know that you can choose either the traditional game watching venue: Jocks and Jills at the Galleria (Jocks & Jills Sports Grill Site Home Page).

Or you can watch the game at our new Buckhead venue: Cheyenne Grill (Cheyenne Grille and Sports Bar - Atlanta, Georgia).

Make sure to come out and join us this Saturday at one of the two.

That place doesn't look half bad, plus it's a bit closer for me than going all the way to Galleria.

Cheyenne Grill is pretty nice. Russ, the managing partner there is an alum, and has stated we should have $2 pints of some good beer. I think it is going to be a good place for us!

their website has two school banners...oklahoma and alabama.

With 50+ tv screens, you guys should be fine.

They actually have an entirely separate room for the alumni clubs - so they'll either put us in there or 'Bama. Either way we are separated and there are a bunch of big screens in both the main bar/restaurant area and the alumni club room.

You can always come down to Athens, it's always on and the Drinks are cheap! There are quite a few Spartans here in the Athens area and I probably should try to see about a bar to view the games w/fellow Spartans.

if you look into it I might show up.

I got a 8 1/2 month pregnant wife and an 18 month old son. This WILL be the last game I get to in a bar for a long time

Update on the new watch spot.

Russ, the manager, did a great job trying to accomodate both our group and the huge 'Bama contingency. We got stuck in a small side room and on the patio. We were assured that next week we'll be in the main room - so that will be good.

Great turnout, though. Got to hang out with two of my favorite local spartans - atlspartan73 and SBSpartan.

It would have been nice to win but no matter how horribly we play, I love this stupid school.

It felt like more of the same, Cheyenne and Jocks and Jills...

Too small a space, lack of a group feel. Lots of small groups of Spartans watching at the same place.

Maybe I'm just used to a smaller club where we were all together as one group of people, and whenever someone new came by, several people went out of their way to make sure they were brought into the larger group. Or maybe I'm just oo old to go to bars to watch football??

Great turnout last night! Next week should be better with MSU using the larger space. Can't beat $7 pitchers and $2 pints! Hope to see everyone back out there again next week!
