FedEx is horrible. UPS is great.

All shipping from Woot.com is listed as $5.00 and it ships things by FedEx Ground more often than not. I know the cost is really built into the item, but Woot always has great deals and then they only charge $5 on top of the cost of the item.

ok, as long as it is some built in deal. It is hard to believe i could go to a fed ex rep with a package and expect a deal like that.

don't know about their tracking, but if anyone on the board is ever considering switching to them for regular business shipping, don't ever do it. I changed my business over to them last year because of a frustration with UPS and they were far WORSE. Terrible for international (require 5X the paperwork), unreliable pickup and drop off times, less reliability in shipping times. Terrible overall.

Yep, they are a lot less reliable on their delivery times than UPS is for their ground estimates. If UPS estimates it'll take 3 days, 98/100 times it'll be there in 3 days. For FedEx Ground, if they estimate 3 days, it's only happens like 80/100 times.
But, that's really not anything new. The ground standard is UPS, but if you need it there overnight or 2nd day, FedEx is more reliable than UPS, especially if the time of day for delivery is important.

Last week there was a Fed Ex truck and double trailer that were in the ditch coming up I-40 between Nashville and Cookeville. He turned one of those trailers over on it's side, and the truck was on fire. Packages were all over the median, and there was a backup truck there trying to find everything that was tossed on the road.
That is all I know about Fed Ex Ground. oh, AND, there is a little arrow between the E and the X. You are welcome.
