Hoops Greatest Athlete Phil Jackson Coached...

Dennis Rodman

Quote:
[Rodman] could probably play a 48-minute game and play the 48th minute stronger than the first minute of the game," Jackson told the crowd at UND. "He was that terrific an athlete."
No Shaq,
No Kobe,
No MJ...
But Rodman

MJ certainly seemed to be a pretty terrific athlete....

Rodman was a pretty big beast though and I almost never remember that guy being winded or lagging behind a play. It's tough to imagine him actually working on cardio, though.

Rodman was obsessed with working out. I'm not surprised...MJ had way more talent but Rodman certainly was a freak of nature.

Rodman was legendary in his approach to cardio...he would hit the treadmill or the bike for an hour or two after an NBA game.

Honestly, this doesn't really surprise me. When you have absolutely NO jumpshot, you have to bring something else to the game.

.....and as any baller would tell you, it takes a helluva lot less effort to hit a J, than anything else.

I read that Pippen, for instance, could jump higher, was faster and had better times in quickness drills than Jordan. A lot of other NBA players were also better athletes on tape. However, Jordan was obviously mentally above other players and, I think, had much better body control.
