Why not just monitor their pages? Cuz it's easy to enforce the across-the-board prohibition than to have to be constantly looking at these kids' pages for content that will embarrass the U, the team or the player himself.
Well, if they've got staff members reading tRCMB and other message boards, they could just as easily be monitoring their Facebook sites (Myspace would be much more difficult)...but that's just a lot more work. You'd have people looking for updates and stupid stuff, then they'd have to call the players or the coaches...get them to take it down...much bigger hassle. My athletes would either not have them or they would only be allowed to befriend other athletes plus a couple close friends and that'd be it. None of this 5000 friends with people you've never and will never meet crap.

He may not have one. The thread starter said it was on Jimmersons AIM away message.

Umm...like the problem with 5000 jock-sniffers/stalkers reporting everything that happens on their ****ing Facebook/Myspace page? You don't see that as an issue? If you aren't regulating who is on there, you don't know exactly who they are saying "yes" to and what or who they are talking to.

Absolutely I'd let them, but they would be told that people will be looking at it to make sure there's no nonsense.
