Internships
I know it varies, but I wanted to hear some stories about how long it takes for companies to extend a full time offer. I'm asking primarily for business.
What is the shortest or longest amount of time it has taken to receive an offer?

In my experience:
Big firm (Company) interviewing a lot of candidates on campus: couple weeks.
The small firm I eventually interned and hired into: I got an offer two days after I interviewed.
Man, I do not miss internship/job hunting and interviewing.

Not quite sure what your questions is. Are you asking about offers for internships or offers for full time positions?
I got an office interview invitation about a week after the initial interview and an internship offer about a week after the office interview.
Received a full time offer in the last week of the internship.
This is pretty standard for accounting internships, at least with the big 4.

Say you just completed an internship during the summer, how long does it take for a full time offer?

The honest answer is a combination of what company you worked for and how good you were. There is no magical number, but the bigger the company, typically the longer the process to hire someone. It also depends on when you're available, is there open headcount, etc.

Not business related, but I'm a software engineer at Motorola. I was told my last week there I'd get an offer, but it took about a month and a half to get it through our wonderful HR department and for me to receive it.

Shouldn't take very long. Most companies will give the offers either before you leave or shortly after. It varies, though. I would just ask them.

Did it take anyone a month or longer for a full time offer?

Yep, copies don't make themselves
Seriously though, what size company did you intern at? What industry? There is no blanket timeframe.

Well, I know that at a larger company (my company is 190,000+) there is obviously a lot more red tape than a smaller company. Often hiring decisions are finalized at a pre-determined date (once a week, once every other etc). Do you have contacts that you would feel comfortable asking what the general timeframe is?

I think so. It has only been a little over a week. I will consider it sometime soon. Thanks.
