That would be cool. They could put Gray Maynard on the card too.

Review of UFC 88
- UFC 88 REVIEW: EVANS' DEVASTATING KO OF LIDDELL - MMA WEEKLY - Mixed Martial Arts & UFC News, Photos, Rankings & more
The crowd in “Hot-lanta” hit an absolute fever pitch during the main event for the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s debut show in the city, as former light heavyweight champion Chuck Liddell squared off against “Ultimate Fighter” season 2 winner, Rashad Evans.
Rashad Evans was able to keep his undefeated record in tact by putting Liddell to sleep in devastating fashion with an overhand right during the 2nd round.
The fight opened with Liddell pursuing Evans and the remainder of the five minute session went much of the same way.
The biggest shot was landed by Liddell when he uncorked one of his famous right hands that seem to catch Evans flush on the jaw, but the former Michigan State wrestler shook it off before moving on in the round.
The second round saw Liddell again come out in the pursuit of Evans, but this time he seemed more willing to stand and trade with the former 205lb champion.
As Evans kept good foot movement throughout the round, he made Liddell come after him as he counter punched at every turn and started to land more shots.
The end came as Liddell again came in after Evans and just as “The Iceman” looked to catch his opponent, it was Rashad Evans who landed a punishing overhand right that sent Liddell crashing to the canvas.
The fight was stopped immediately as a shocked Atlanta crowd sat in silence as Liddell laid motionless in the Octagon for almost 5 minutes.
Obviously, Evans background in wrestling never came into play during the fight, but his gameplan worked perfectly.
"The strategy is going straight for the horns," said Evans. "You can’t beat Chuck Liddell going for the takedown all day.
Eventually, Liddell stood back up as the crowd gave a loud cheer knowing that he hadn’t endured any major injury from the knockout.
As for Rashad Evans, his counter attack and right hand kept him undefeated while knocking out a legend in the sport.
Evans now seems to be the likely #1 contender for Forrest Griffin’s light heavyweight title after demolishing former champion, Chuck Liddell, in a great performance from the Team Jackson fighter.
"I’m a patient man," Evans stated about the title shot. "I’m just enjoying the ride and whatever happens, however long it takes it takes.

Too bad I coudn't watch the event because I had a prior engagement at a party that I coudn't weasel my way out because it's was a comany bonding event. Yes one of those bs garbage. Excellent it makes me so proud Rashad deserves a title shot and I'll bet Forrest is a bit worried about facing Rashad. There is no doubt Forrest is tough after beating Rampage but Rashad can more than held his own.
This is a great career move betting a high profile fighter like Chuck now gives him the right to a title shot. I can't wait no matter what I'm going to watch the next fight.

After the KO my wife and I stood up screaming for about a half an hour. I partially lost my voice.

Confirmed: Spartan Rashad Evans Gets Title Shot
- RASHAD EVANS GRANTED FIRST SHOT AT FORREST - MMA WEEKLY - Mixed Martial Arts & UFC News, Photos, Rankings & more
Talking about the possibility of a title shot after his stunning performance, Evans said, “I’m a patient man. I’m just enjoying the ride and whatever happens, however long it takes, it takes.”
He didn’t have to be patient for long, however, as UFC president Dana White informed the media at the UFC 88 post-fight press conference that Evans would indeed be tapped to challenge UFC light heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin in the first defense of his title.
Although White stopped short of confirming when the title bout would take place, it is believed to be part of a planned twin bill, sharing the spotlight on Dec. 27 with a heavyweight interim title bout between champion Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira and challenger Frank Mir.

Correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't this be the first matchup between former TUF winners? Unfortunately, the fact that it's a title fight guarantees three more seasons of the show.

Rashad already beat Bisping, who won TUF 3.

I've tried to forget recent Bisping fights at 205 due to how boring they've been.

you'd get killed for saying that here in england... but you are right.... he looks a different animal at 185......
anyway why they are not doing that Evans Griffin fight at the palace is beyond me..... that would make perfect sence... if they wanted to be ambitious they could have done that one at ford field....
I won't tell you that we get the PPV here as part of a sports package at 13 pounds a month (roughly 20 dollars) you'll all get jealous......
