Dunno, I truly believe the Canes will keep this close. It is a young team, but very talented.

As someone who grew up in Michigan, I refuse to call Miami "UM." Their Miami, or "da U." Michigan is UM. It pisses me off when I talk to people down here about how great it was that UM lost to Utah and they say "The 'canes played Utah?"

Thoughts on the game last night.......

UF would completely suck without Tebow, he is their offense. The fans know this, opposing teams know this. He is just plain and simple a BEAST.

Pretty good college game atmosphere, very loud stadium, not a bad seat in the house.

OK campus, Gainesville is not somewhere I would want to spend four years but I guess Im biased.

The chants and cheers are the most elementary and ******ed chants ever. " go gators, get up and go" That and the song they sing between 3rd and 4th quarters is absolutely horrible.

their band is blah, but the fans are great, not many disrepectful people, EVERYONE cheered and was into the game the WHOLE game. I had a MSU Polo on which was green, so everyone thought I was a fan of the U. Got some mild jeers from people who cant read. Got some go State from those that could, and even got a few Kill michigan this year too. The people around me in the stands were great.

Biggest difference I notice from a game there and a game at big ten venues is the age of the fans in the stands. Very few +50 people at the game, which of course means they will be more vocal. Scalping was absoutley outrageous(sp), tix went for 200 all the way up to gametime.

Very good time though, would go back for an SEC game, and only with tickets in hand, spent 1.5 hours getting tickets is not fun.

O, and the line to Taco bell after the game was silly, never seen a slower drive through in history!!!

What makes you think that Michigan is the U of M? Why not Minnesota? It is a regional thing and I dont know why you would think people would automatically know what you are talking about. Thats like calling MSU "State".

When I lived in Michigan I was the same way, but after living in Mizzou, and now South FLA , definately changes things. What he says about UM being DA U is correct tho. seems like the people who went there say UM fans say Da U.

On a side note, saw a Ukon the other day, this guy had stripped off all the "Yu"s on his pretty nice yukon and replaced them with a big U all around.

Few things ive noticed.. I like the gator cheers and think they are better than some of the spartan ones(especially the stupid dancing one). However, the orange-blue chant is nothing compared to go green go white.... Theres also no "first-down bitch" which is nice. However, the cops during the games/tailgating are ridiculous. I thought it was bad at MSU,but the cops at UF are 1000x as bad. Honestly there are cops standing in the stands escorting people out almost continuously during the game(for stupid stuff like standing on the bleechers). More so, during tailgating I saw multiple cops just riding their bikes and IDing every college kid they saw with a drink in his/her hand. Although, the tailgating scene reminded me of the old-rock/IM field days... There are giant slip-n-slides and people EVERYWHERE... if you are an underage kid it was pretty much impossible to drink on campus

The campus is definitely different than states. When I first came here I wa s abit "meh" about it... Ive been here for about a month now and hte campus is really growing on me. Its a lot smaller feeling than states, but there are some really nice places. In the end I think MSU's campus is nicer... but lets be honest... 5 months out of the year the campus is a frigid-tundra that cant really be "enjoyed".

A few things.. UF's IM facilities>>>>>>MSUs... Its not even comparable they have a brand new IM center that is amazing. Their IM sports are also a lot better ran.

The biggest difference between MSU and UF i have noticed is that UF seems more "for the students".... Athletic tickets are free to every game(except football.. which is 70 bucks for the season)... there are LOTS of student groups on campus doing stuff almost daily... they have multiple student activities that actually draw a huge crowd... I dunno, there just always seems to be some university/club-funded event for the students. oh.. and riding the bus is free

MSU's campus is better.. but the reason I chose to goto UF for my phD was because I couldnt see myself spending another 5 years in east lansing(or even michigan).

Both things I forgot to mention. VERY true in both regards. Hope You have a good time while at UF..... If you ever need anyone to go to a game with drop me a line.....esp if its LSU or TENN, or even UGA in J-ville lol

The EAST IM was nice while I was there(MSU) but the other two def. show their age.

MSU basketball is more popular than MSU football, Breslin could sell out with just students if they wanted to. Hockey is the only other nonfree thing, and its 10 bucks, or ~5 bucks if you have some sort of ticket plan.

It's a supply-demand thing.
