It will be one of the most over-hyped games because of the schools and coaches featuring some of the most butt ugly football this decade.

It's going to be great....
"We step away from action to take a look back at this historic rivalry between the two winningest college football programs..."
"And we're back! Jimmy Emu fumbles the ball and it's recovered by Meeechicken .... Michigan runs the ball down to the 1 and....oh dear...fumble!!"
"These teams look absolutely terrible today don't you think?"

I'm going to call this one a win for ND, but it's not going to be good football by either team. Yeah, the Michigan defense is pretty good, but it seems to be a shadow of its former self (like from last year). The game won't be a blow out and both teams will probably have a fair shot to win it. I expect to see each team attempting to thrust victory to their opponent. I think what makes me think that this is going to be an ND victory is the fact that if Michigan would have been in ND's position today, they wouldn't have come back and taken the game. The unfortunate part of all of this is that ND is going to leave the game thinking that a win over Michigan will usher in the beginning of a successful season. Look for Michigan's offense to choke several times, but also for their defense to put the hurt on Jimmy.

I agree on SoCal Jimmy running for his life against the umaa defense.
That is one area where umaa could really help MSU since Jabba has been running off other QB's. The umaa D line and LB's could put Jimmy out of that game and several to follow from what I saw of the ND O line today.
It will be brutal football. Two offenses that are just painful to watch.

I predict this game will be a disgrace and an insult to the game of football as a whole.

As bad as UM's offense looks right now, they will go into South Bend and beat ND soundly. ND is terrible. Their offensive line is still bad. Clausen is a joke. And Tenuta has a bad defense blitzing just about every down, exposing a very meager secondary. Can't wait until the come to East Lansing.

Why do I want Michigan to beat the rat crap out of the Irish? I can't figure this out. I usually could care less, but I really want Michigan to beat the rat crap out of the Irish. I guess I'm just so sick of Jabba. I appologize to my fellow Spartans for wanting Michigan to win this game.

I'll pick ND because UM's QB's and offense in general will look even worse on the road.

Do you mean something like this?

QFT. I don't see a repeat of last year's 38-0 dismantling, but I just can't see ND scoring many points on that SCum defense, which is still pretty solid and clearly the strength of their team. Clausen and the entire offfense struggled mightly with a clearly inferior and talent deficient Aztec team for 3 and a half quarters in a game they could, and probably should, have easily lost. The SCum DL will once again ass rape that porous ND OL and re-introduce Jimmy the emu to terra firma and the pulling out of it thereof from his face mask. As pathetic as the "dynamic duo" of QB's Nickolette Sheridan and Stephen "No" Threet (at all) are, SCum's defense will prolly put up enough points to win what most likely will turn out to be the most butt ugliest of games in college football this season. Looking forward to both the high comedy hi jinx, and any potential injuries that follow it, to the two most despised college football programs MSU plays.

Have either of these two fan bases reached meltdown stage yet? Both look really bad. And this is the second year of terrible play for ND. I would think the fans would be calling for heads at this point. SCUM..is maybe a little early to call for head..but with their unrealistic expectations I can see some of the base beginning to pass the word. Does anyone with connections hear anything?

GBMW...do you feel that your response is representative, as a whole, of the feelings of the fan base towards Dick Rod and his program? Will the Wolvie faithful continue to support him if he, for example, has the first losing season this year for SCum football since 1967...particularly for his apparent disregard for previous traditions and ways of doing things that Bo and his disciples espoused and which helped to build a dynasty, of sorts, in both the Big Ten and in major college football?
SCum fans have not had to experience a total culture change in their football program until now. As someone old enough to remember SCum in the pre-Bo days of Bump Elliott and of filling the Big Hole only when they played MSU or tO$U, I do have to wonder how much "patience" SCum students and alums, your true fans I mean and not the Wal-Mart Wolvies who I know will bail out on a loser, if Dick Rod should happen to become the SCum version of JLS?
Would the Big Hole become as cavernous in it's own way as the Crisler "library" has become? I realize that SCum doesn't much care about their basketball program anymore, being as bad as it is, but this is their football program after all...their pride and joy...the flagship program of their sports fleet. Correct me if I'm wrong here, but Dick Rod wasn't hired to "rebuild", in his own image and way, the program was he? Even if it took a few mediocre or even losing seasons to finally get SCum back to the mountaintop again? Seriously now...was he?
Just wondering is all.
