Football Discussion of the upcoming ND/UM game.

Day: Saturday
Date: Sept. 13, 2008
Location: Notre Dame, Ind.
Time: 3:30 p.m. ET

These two looked terrible today. I might give the slight edge to ND, only for the home field advantage. What's the over/under on total yards? 250?

Spare us the "Obsession" comments - our arch rival is playing a common opponent the week before we are.

I would agree that ND will be the favorite. Both teams are terrible and we should handle both of them this year. It will be interesting to watch these 2 traditional programs look like crap together on the field.

Of course, I am sure Lou Holtz will pick ND to win by 20 points. The old fart still thinks they will win 10 or 11 games.

Won't that be the real irony? The two winningest programs in college football history currently are tSuck.

Spare us 60 minutes of second division MAC football and just let the coin flip decide the game.

It should be a good game (meaning it should be close and competitive), but it's going to be terrible football. At this point, neither team has been able to do anything on offense. Michigan looks light years away from putting together anything resembling a typical DickRod offense. Notre Dame seems content with lobbing up fade routes every other play (which works on occassion vs. teams like SDSU, but not against Big Ten schools).

Michigan's defense looks very, very tough, and is no doubt their team's strength. I think they still have one of the best D-lines in the country, and they're going to murder Emu-boy all day long. Notre Dame's defense looked pretty good today vs. SDSU (that it for what it's worth). Tenuta is well respected, and I'm sure he'll have a good game plan going into this one.

All in all, I think it's going to be a low-scoring, ugly football game. Blocked kicks, kick-off returns and turnovers are going to decide this one. I doubt either team will put over 20 points, and I think the first team that scores a TD probably wins the game.

Notre Dame 13

This is the modern day Army/Navy game. Two programs that once upon a time were powerhouses in football and now just a shell of their former self.

I will still root for the same outcome I usually do when these two dinosaurs meet.

Stadium Implosion.

Somebody tell PETA to look away because Jimmy the Emu is going to be getting smacked around a lot.

It will be ugly, that's for sure.

I'll pick ND because UM's QB's and offense in general will look even worse on the road.

The winner is going to be whatever game I decide to change to after being nauseated by the putrid offenses of DickRod and Jabba.

The only thing that will make that game more entertaining to watch(besides the utter failure of football that will be on display from both teams) is if this happened on the field during the game:

That game is going to be an abomination and an embarrassment to the MSU teams that have dominated Spartan Stadium South.

Big M,

I think Michigan offense will be fine because the Irish defense didn't exactly stop the SDS. If Michigan can win by controlling the play on first down, both offensively and defensively. UM 19 Fat Jabba 10

Won't the real winners be those of us who don't watch the game?

No I'm not, I'll probably head in and do some brown nosing to our attending who loves to work Saturdays.

Thankfully, all of you will be spared my post for most of Saturday
