fine with me. He should have retired 2 years ago. Hasn't been the same mentally since blowing the play-in game against the Rockies in 07.

not a closer but the SS situation would be shored up immediately if the Tigers made a move for Michael Young. Not sure if they have enough left to give up, however:

the only thing I can see is that Seay isn't really a true LHP (pitches better against righties). I don't see why Rapada or McBride can't do the job though. Always helps to add arms though.

Right for a minor league deal ... go for it. I understand the Seay thing, but Rapada seemed decent last year. You also have to figure out what to do with Nate. And then there is the Rule 5 kid (whose name escapes me now). I'm more worried about the RHs in the pen.

Another: Ni Fu-Te Signs With Detroit Tigers |
Doesn't sound like much to get very excited about. Will likely start in Toledo.

I do like the fact that the Tigers are looking outside the country though. Where there is one, there could be more.
Two just defected from Cuba that are supposed to be MLB ready. Looking at the White Sox - no surprise with their history of Cuban players.
